The last thing you would write

I was thinking...

Suppose you knew that you had a week left to live.. what is the very last thing that you would write here on CF? You want to author one last thread, with one last thing you want to share; what would it be about, and what would you say?

So long and thanks for all the fish.

Okay, just kidding.

I imagine it would be something unimaginative like "Hey everyone, I'm dying in a week. Thanks for all the hours of conversation, debate, discussion and friendship. See ya again soon."

Same here T...

One thing I have done is that I have begun collecting my thoughts in a blog in case someone is ever interested in reading it, mainly family and friends. That way my children can go back when they are older and they know what their daddy believed. If I go to heaven prematurely that is one way I can pass on my faith to them. Another is music.

It would be how grateful I would be that it was nearing an end .

Okay, just kidding.

Not that it wouldn't be good ;)

If any has not accepted Jesus and been born again.

PLEASE DO SO!!!

This would probably be mine too :)

When I thought about it this morning, a thought came to me (and this is no implication on you btw, Optimax); why don't we write like this anyways? When you think about it, you may never actually have a chance to write down the last thing you would write.

I heard of a pastor from who knows how long ago, he was on his deathbed, and in that time he had caught a glimpse of eternity; I believe he had a look into heaven, and he said, "O how differently I would preach if I had another chance to do it!" I had heard a story of another man, he had been given a partial revelation of hell (didn't write a book on it or anything), but was so impacted by it that went off to Mexico as a missioanry, as if driven by a force none could explain. Both had seen, in part, the consequences of their work.

Think... we may do our work while it is still day, but night is coming when we will not be able to work. In light of that, what do you think would be your last writing? To tack on another question, how would you change around your witness and ministry now?

I had an NDE about 8 years ago and saw heaven. It is impossible to describe. We really don't understand just how dark the glass is we are looking through. I only caught a distant glimpse and it changed me.

It really is a lack of faith that keeps people out of heaven. Not that God doesn't want everyone to be with Him for eternity.

Our writings are really only extentions of who we are and what we believe to be true. You can tell alot about people by reading what they write.

If I write..."hey everybody...God loves you so very much please believe me" it is going to be taken alot of different ways.

Some will say, yes He loves you, but you need to do this, this, this, this and this.

Some will say, if He loved me why did He allow this to happen?

Some will say, yes I know He loves me, but there is alot more to God than just love.

Some will say, ah yes that is nice. Now where were we.

Some will say, God loves you but you need to walk holy!

Some will say, God can't love you until you stop sinning.

Some will say God doesn't exist and that they are OK with that.

The revelation of God's love depends on our understanding and willingness to believe in it in light of everything else.

Most of time we are so trapped by preconceptions that it makes it virtually impossible to truly experience and walk in the revelation of God's love for us.

Once a person has glimpsed and experienced the beauty of God's love in their inner being, they don't really care about anything else accept to live in the presence of that love for all of eternity.

That is why the apostles didn't mind dying. It wasn't that they were any braver or more courageous than anyone else. It's because they had seen and experienced the love of God and knew from their experience that the Psalmist was dead on right when he said that God's love is better than life.

That is why I believe Thomas Aquinas didn't write anything in His last days...because I believe he had had a supernatural revelation of God's love and suddenly all of the things he had written seemed irrelevant in the revelation knowledge of God's love.

1st Corinthians 2:9

“...No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined
what God has prepared for those who love him.”

I would write 'Hey guys, I'm going to be with the Lord! Hallelujah! All my dreams will now come true!! I'm going to see my family - see those whom I loved and lost on the Earth during my stay here. I'm gonna meet all the Disciples LOL! I'm gettin' a brand new body! No more aches and pains! Freedom at last! I'm gonna walk along streets paved with gold and stand at the throne of the Almighty! I'm gonna sing praises to our God with all the angels - and I'll be waiting for ya to arrive when it's your time. It's been fun - nice knowin' ya. Make sure you read your Bibles, keep praying and remember Jesus is coming soon....Ciao'

If I had to write one last thing, I'm afraid I wouldn't post it here.

I'd post it on a forum which is full of unbelievers. The darkest corner of the Internet that I could find. I would write my life's testimony and what God has done in my life.

I'd want my one last writing to bring light into a dark place.
