The Doctrine of Christ is that the Spirit the Lord sends us, is the same Spirit
He walked in that enables us to walk as He walked,
in the perfected relationship between the Father and the Son.
John 8:29 And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone,
for I always do those things that please Him.
We are taught over and over to abide in Him. This is the same as the Old Testament
admonition to "wait on the Lord". King Saul fell from favor with God because he
failed to wait on Samuel, to hear the Word. He 'went forward' of his own volition.
2 John 9 Whoever transgresses (literally:goes forward) and does not abide in
the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine
of Christ has both the Father and the Son.
To walk as He walked requires purity of heart.
Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.
John 5:19 Then Jesus answered and said to them,
Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself,
but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does,
the Son also does in like manner.
The Son of God, seated at the Father's right hand,
takes us as His children by the Spirit of Adoption.
2 Corinthians 6:
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord,
and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
Romans 8:
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear,
but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.
By this, we become the King's Friend
Proverbs 22:11 He that loves pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend.
John 15:
14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.
15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what
his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that
I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
