This is referring to the scripture in Revelation 1:6 KJV "6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen." A couple of months ago someone prophesied this over me. Since then i've been researching the concept through various sources but haven't really found accurate resources to pull off of. I find it strange because the things I have read have some ground because my life has been set up in a way that finance and influence has always been apart of my upbringing and something I excel in. I always assumed it was the favor of God. But was this case of prophesying setting me up for the path God has for me? My question is merely asking if anyone has heard of this concept and if they can point me in the direction where I can learn about it. From what I can tell this concept is used by the Church of God prophecy, I was raised in Church of God but i'm not familiar with the distinctions between the two churches.

Hi 'Charlie Z'. I understand the 'Priestly annointing' as being filled with the Holy Spirit daily for ministry and service to the LORD,in the power of the Holy Spirit. The 'Kingly blessing' comes by relationship and obedience to the LORD and gives us spiritual authority in Him.

There is a teaching in the Talmud that is relevant. It states that any Israelite can be a king, but only a Levite can be a priest. Like anything the Jews say, there are multiple interpretations, and the goal is to get you thinking. I suggest that first, once in Christ, you obtain the necessary qualification to build the earth (like Adam was told to do), and as you go on getting closer to Him, you are raised up to build the Kingdom on earth. Since this is in a Pentecostal thread, let me suggest that the deciding factor in whether you can go from the first level to the second, is Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

The church is a 'Royal Priesthood' (1 Peter 2:9) Every believer is a priest. Jesus is the 'Great High Priest' and we are called through Him to God. In the Old Testament the Priest mediated between man and God and had to fulfil certain rituals under the law. In the New Testament Kingdom of Christ every believer has the privilege and responsibility to offer themselves to God in holiness and praise having been redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb. Priests must be annointed and that's where the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is essential.
