So... Am I the only one who has one?

I have to say, the dang thing is amazing. Way more amazing then I ever thought it would be. We only have 2 games right now, the "Kinect Adventures" and "Dance Central." The "Kinect Adventures" is what one would expect from a pack-in game, but "Dance Central" is an absolute, hands down, blast. I can't believe how well done that game is, super responsive, very accurate, tons of fun. And the pictures it takes in-game... Very wonderful blackmail material. :) Don't have the "Kinectimals" yet, but at some point I'm sure we will scoop it up.

No, haven't got one yet. I've been going back and forth about it though. I wanted one when I first heard about it, then saw more on it and didn't want one, and now that its out and I've seen it, I want one again. I'll probably wait a bit, maybe till Christmas. I'm ready to see what they can really do with it.

I just can't really conceive of what games you could make for it that I'd like. Maybe some kind of platformer, but I really can't see myself getting into this.
That's what I was thinking as well. I doubt they could work a FPS or RPG game into this thing very well.

I have a Wii. That more than fulfills my desire for motion controls. I also have a PS3, but that isn't for motion controls (except I actually kind of liked Rise from Lair!). Not really interested in the PS3 Move. I have very little interest in a 360, since just about everything worthwhile on it is also on the PS3.

They're two entirely different things. They play and function completely differently.

I also have a PS3, but that isn't for motion controls (except I actually kind of liked Rise from Lair!). Not really interested in the PS3 Move. I have very little interest in a 360, since just about everything worthwhile on it is also on the PS3.

Really? I can think of a dozen 360 exclusives that are really a ton of fun, really good and in some cases innovative games. We have both the PS3 and the 360 and overall I find the 360 to be lightyears beyond that of the PS3 in terms of content, playability, online community, etc. Really, we only use ours for the Bluray.

That said, there are some PS3 exclusives that I miss for the 360, though not enough. "Heavy Rain" is a really awesome game and I'm loving "3D Dot Heroes," then of course there's "God of War..." But I think if I were to fraction out my system playtime, 95% of it would be 360, 3% PS3, 1% Wii, and 1% older systems.

It's funny because at the start of this console generation, I was so pulling for the PS3. I was devoted in all ways to the PS2 and I still think it's probably the second best console created (behind my personal fav, the SNES), but the PS3 I just find depressing. I'm not surprised at all at its being a distant third... Though I think it may shuffle up here a bit. Wii sales have peaked and I think 360 will overtake Wii and, eventually, PS3 will too, unless Nintendo gets their butts in gear.

And because I know I'll be called out:

Alan Wake
Dead Rising
Fable series
Gears of War series
Halo in all its forms (though it's not my favorite series)
Left 4 Dead 1 and 2
Mass Effect
Metro 2033 (yup I'm listing it, I loved that game)
Splinter Cell: Conviction (again, I'm not ashamed to list it, it was short but it was fun)
Tropico 3

And that's not including the XBL Marketplace...

I'm not sold on it yet. I've heard good things, but I'm waiting for the second batch of titles to come out before I decide. Nothing has really piqued my interest yet, save for voice commands and being able to manipulate the dashboard and my multimedia with it by hand, and that's not enough use to justify its price tag.

Aww come on. Most of them are shooters.

The only thing that I'll agree with is the XBL. They have all kinds of good games that Micro$oft bribed to get.

4 of them aren't shooters, that's just under half the list! LoL! Alan Wake, Fable, Mass Effect, and Tropico aren't shooters. And Sony isn't a poor company... Sony still has the most sold console ever made. If they chose to put the same emphasis on their online services as Microsoft, they could have had the number of great exclusives Microsoft does. I think the only way they lose out is that a lot of the titles are both PC and Xbox, so Microsoft can negotiate out rights before Sony can... But in the end Sony being so difficult to work with makes them lose out. Lots of developers are very outspoken about their refusal to work with Sony.

Wife is wanting one, surprised me when she came in and said "I want an x-box" :D
(She's not a gamer at all)

Turns out she saw the ad for the Dance game with the Kinect, so might be getting a system for her for Christmas (Depending on the Bonus this year)

(That and one game system for the "Family" Gift, and a few games and everyone is taken care of)
