We fianlly heard from my brother this morning - he didn't right out say he was into Sciencetology but my dad felt the classes Matt has to take for the 'church' sounded like sciencetology classes

That's very sad. Scientologists are about the God within that they think they can be empowered by clearing all of self. They don't have knowledge any true power that comes from God so they only have the devil to draw from.

Good morning everyone! God is good, He is still on His throne. I am excited about going to church this morning and just soaking in His presence. I have taken on alot in the last few weeks, and it has become heavy and burdensome. I thank God that He bears my burdens..*snicker...of course when I let Him and stop thinking I can do it on my own! *sheepish grin*! But I do know He loves me and He loves us all. Hope everyone has a good day. Blessings on all.

Hehe hello shadowcat welcome back...
in my opinion, about the recent conflicts in the inner room, i think its pretty normal. something would be very wrong i think, if things like these didnt happen.. im not saying that its fantastic either.. its jus something we would expect sometimes... and like what BM said, love and forgiveness will help us to work together as a family..
As you say these things happen within a family. Maybe we can look at it positively and consider this a family with love between us. And I agree about working it out with love and forgiveness.
I guess these things also help us to grow and maybe realise what our beliefs are and where we stand.
A quote that impacted me: If you don't stand for anything you may fall for everything.

Will continue to pray for you and Brett and your brother. May the truth be revealed. I pray that the Lord's love and guidance will be with you.

HELLO TO EVERYONE!

Trying to catch up with some of you here. NOT meaning to leave anyone out, but know you'll understand that I cannot comment on all.

Sabbie said:
Thank you Bondman for that word today! You are so right! Sunday Morning Christians are the ones that seem to have no battles, always having a relaxed easy walk.
The deeper spirit filled Christian, that prays without ceasing and feels deeply for the furtherance of the kingdom, is the one that bears the battle scars. The Christian that has their heart pulled when someone is hurting and hastens to pray for them is the one that is weary from holding up their neighbor's burden. The Christian that would lay down his life for his brother or sister is the one that holds the breath inside them that screams out the battle cry against the enemy.
I rather like being a little scarred, weary and out of breath. Then I know that I am where I am supposed to be and doing what HE wants me to do.
I praise You Father for the fight. I am Yours and You are mine!

Praise You Father!

Sabbie - I loved all of that, and also your verse, "Carry each others burdens and in this way you will fulfil the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2. So important, hey!

HadessahRose - you reported being in a better place emotionally! I do hope and pray that you still are.

ralangley - Oh, hon, I'm so glad you're staying cos you sure would be missed! Your presence here is great. You are so open and honest - two qualities that are so very important for every serious Believer!

Amanda - Dunno what we'd do without you, girl!! I believe that some have taken up your offer of support any time - a wonderful offer. I see your heart, and so does the Lord, and it's a beautiful one!

CindyisHis - Thankyou for all you do here. Yep, sure hard to keep up, especially when you are in other forums as well. You said that we must FORGIVE, must LOVE!
amen,sign.gif
to that!!! Without both we can NOT prosper Spiritually, and will NEVER reach the Spiritual Maturity God wants for each one of us.

Howard Dean - WELCOME to The Inner Room! I hope you're have a really blessed time here in our online family, where we love and care for each other in Jesus' Name!

ladyt28 - WELCOME to The Inner Room also, Theresa! So sorry to hear about Josh. Those who've had such loss as this (I haven't) understand the grief - and getting through that certainly takes time.

ShadowCat - Whoa, so glad you are staying Rebecca! Would have been a loss to me and many here, cos you are loved and appreciated.

FoundinGrace - Oh, you're so right! This surely is HIS thread, and it is in HIS mighty hands! And the gates of hell can never prevail against what is His will. I agree with you that tho we do NOT like this 'stuff', that it's happening is actually 'encouraging' - meaning that we must be doing something right to have annoyed the devil this much!!!

blankgirl - and adding to above, as you said, this sort of thing is normal... and you're right! Hope you're doing okay, hon!

Well that brings me more or less up to date - best I can anyway!

Bless you each one in our family here!!

My dad had a wonderful message at church this morning. He is doing a series on 'knee-ology' or prayer. Today he talked about something that he and I actually talked about the last time Brett and I were here. Dad's sermon was about our relationship with God. He talked about different names for the Father but focused on Abba. I wish I could capture exactly what my dad said but the idea behind it was that what we call God directly affects our prayer life.

That saying God is a more formal term that could (but does not always) imply that we view God as a distant being who is not directly involved in His creations lives. Another way would be to look at Him as the Great Creator who is all powerful and that if we displease Him He will strike us down. This is the old testament God. The one that was feared, the one that it was felt could not be directly approached and the one you could not have a one on one relationship with - a God you needed someone to speak to for you.

In the New Testament we learn a new name for the Father - Father or Abba. Father is a formal way of referring to your male parental type figure but Abba is more of an informal intimate term like daddy or dada or papa. A term we use out of love and appreciation. Jesus taught us to pray using terms like OUR FATHER and ABBA. We were taught by and through Christ that God is not just some creator that has a distance interest in us and not a God who will strike us down for sinning against Him no it is the opposite. God is our Father our daddy who wants to be there with us.

Our Abba wants to pick us up off the ground when we fall. Our Abba has endless love that we can not truly understand. Our Abba has given EVERYTHING for us. Our Abba brings out the fatted calf every time we return. Our Father, Our Abba, loves us endlessly, without bounds, and with complete giving.

When we come to our Abba in prayer we are having a direct, complete, INTIMATE relationship with Him. Our Abba is the one that we can share anything with and know that He is listening and will never turn away from us. When we pray to our Abba we know that He will answer our prayers we never leave a CONVERSATION with Him wondering about that - we might wonder when He will answer or prayers but we never doubt that He will.

God is good all the time! That is so very true and I hope that I was able to present the word of God as eloquently as my daddy was able to this morning.

~amanda

EDIT!
I just wanted to make sure that no one thought I was trying to tell them what to call God - the point of the message was more - your relationship with God and the way you view Him affects your prayer life. And often our relationships come across by what we call someone. I call my dad - dad or daddy and my stepmom is Gret. Affectionate names tend to show a more intimate relationship.

Hello Friends

Have a Blessed Day

It is actually hot and sunny in UK today, after several weeks of heavy rain, and many homes were flooded out.

Hello KJ, great to hear about the sun!

It's been shocking to hear of the floods over there. (You get flooded, we're still in most serious drought! - pity we can't share or do swapsies or something! *smile*)

Bless you too, hon - abundantly!

Great post, Amanda! Ya dun good, hon!

(Just as a matter of interest, when I started on forums - which feels like an age ago - I was SO surprised that most Americans seemed to use the word 'God'. I seldom used 'God' - much too formal for my relationship with Him! I would use 'Lord', and mostly 'Jesus', AND 'Father', which to me is actually a term of endearment and closeness, cos He IS my heavenly Dad like you said, and He is with me and in me right now - and always!

(But in order to 'fit in with' Americans, I slowly swapped over to mostly using 'God', tho found this SO unnatural, and not what I like at all, i.e., I totally agree with your Dad and you!)

May Abba Father bless you heaps n heaps!

I think a lot of it has to do with spiritual growth and were we are in our relationship. For me I prayed to God when I prayed because that is what He is. As my relationship grew, as I studied more, as I took the time to get to know Him, He became Father and now I often find myself calling Him daddy.

It is all a relationship thing that really does in my opinion affect our prayer life.

I hope I didn't write this in a confusing manner I just felt that what I heard today needed to be shared so I followed where I was lead and did the best I could with God's help.

I know what you mean bg. Conflict is part of life, and we know people are not perfect. I'm certainly not! I do not expect anyone else to be. I do desire for all of us to be pressing for the mark though. And for us to be patient with each other when we fall.
personally i think it is encouraging, bizarre i know but i do :D
Yeah, like there is so much good going on you know there will be opposition.

shadowcat, you've gotta stay! You're so precious. We need you!

Goodness Gracious! I slogged thru 10 pages! I tried to skim, but there was so much good stuff that just had to be read, not skimmed!:D
First off: Bondman, that was so good, the posts you did on peace and troubles! Your right, we dont hear too much about the christian life being a battle.
ForeverAmanda, I hope your search for a new church is fruitful! I know I had quite an adventure before I found the one I'm at!
Welcome home CindyisHis! Missed ya!
I'm so glad people are staying! Its all gonna work out!
JoshuaM, if you must go, then you must. One thing we have learned recently is that people have to make their own decisions. We cant make them for them. But we hope you decide to stay and work it out. You do have a place here.
Oh, there was so much! Cant remember it all! If I've left anyone out, my apologies! I'll try to keep up better.
Welcome to the newbies!:tutu:
