Gen 15:12-16 KJV
(12) And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
(13) And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
(14) And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
(15) And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.
(16) But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.
Any thoughts as to how this is applicable today?

Paul, sorry but I'm not 100% sure of your question! :scratch:

I guess it shows God allowing for certain iniquities to reach His determined level, before administering judgement? I don't understand the fourth generation thing either, because I would have thought the fullness would have come when God destroyed them and handed the land to Israel...

Nice! - I also think it shows that God "allows" the iniquity to fill up before administering judgment.

In this case; God made promises to Israel regarding some literal land. However, the Amorites occupied this land. - Their iniquity would not be full for 400 years (four generations), therefore God would not send in Israel until that time, so It's my understanding that Israel, went into (and became slaves) Egypt.

I also think of Sodom and Gomorrah and maybe the time prior to the flood and wonder if it had "hit that certain mark" which caused God to open the floodgates of the judgment.

As far as the "Amorites" go, I see the exact same thing happening today. Israel was sent into "other lands" waiting for the "iniquity" to be full so that God can pass judgment on the world (Daniel's 70th week) prior to Israel entering Her promised land... Which of course is occupied today,,, by who?

If the time frames are right, then that is spot on as the Amorite kings were totally destroyed and the land given to Israel!

Agreed, which also definately suggest a purpose in iniquity that is required by God. Which saught of hit me again last night in Rom 11:32 and Gal 3:22-23.

But also aren't there more judgments to come upon the houses of Israel and Judah?

Not sure but thanks for pointing that verse out, very helpful!!!
