I think that what we are seeing is the continued fulfillment of biblical prophecy.
The persecution, and removal of Christian rights is leading us to the ultimate appearance of the anti-christ. Of course we know that in the end Christians will be forced to take the mark, or suffer ultimate death.

The timing of these things is of course in God's hands, but he did lay out the depiction of it rather well.

Christianity does not have the largest following anymore, Islam is reported to having up to 2.4 billion practicing Muslims. And its growing at a rapid rate while Christian faiths numbers are dropping very quickly. The average family these days in western nations is shrinking and many children are straying away from the faith, while Islamic family usually have at least 5 children and almost never leave.Your right God does have a plan and we shouldnt get discouraged, on the contrary we should rejoice because our redemption is very close. Christians are dying every day for their faith in large numbers, mostly by those doing it in the name of Allah and Muhammed. The antichrist spirit has been around since Jesus was here and it is alive more than ever. The sad thing is that most of are waiting to see doctrines fufilled rather than scripture.
