  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm about 110% sure that Julia will be all like "no."

Remember the email she sent out about not copying or uploading cds sent to reviewers?

Maybe. Not sure how Julia is with that stuff, between reviewers. I know at anti, all the reviewers have access to the stuff up for review, but we are not to share it with people who do not review with anti.

Can't go wrong with an iPod. :)
I really need an iPod like you wouldn't believe. But my parents are already getting me a laptop (hooray for school!) for Christmas so I'm not about to ask them for something else expensive and electronic and I'm not going to have the money any time soon...

...It sure would be nice not to have to lug my CD cases around though...

The ipod nano is way cool and so is the new ipod (with video and stuff), but the more I think about, the more I realise I really don't need video capabilities on an ipod. 30GB is nice, but 4GB would suit my needs just fine.

I have a confession to make. I've decided that I like Bright Eyes. A lot. I know Conor gets bashed quite a bit among the indie crowd for his overly emotional songs, and overusing his voice at times, but I don't care. I think he's one of the best lyricists around. I think "Lifted" is a quality album.

Yeah, I'm not sure either. When I first started writing for Decapolis she used to burn multiple copies for everyone who requested something, even if they didn't do a review. Then she started running out of cds, so she would just tell people who requested multiple items, which writer got it so that they could try and get a copy directly from them.

I haven't been writing alot for Decap lately, so I'm not really sure what the system of sharing between writers is anymore.

I sent her an e-mail, but I haven't heard back yet.

Lifted is a quality album. I'm also a fan of I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning. Digital Ash in a Digital Urn however...

No way I need that 30GB. I've got a crappy Creative MP3 player the size of a discman except twice as thick and I've filled 18GB of it's 20GB capacity. There's a website over here though selling the 30GB video iPods for just over £200. Very tempting.

For the most part, yes, but he can get a little narcissistic.

A particular line I'm fond of (from "An Attempt to Tip the Scales"):

So we trade liquor for blood
In an attempt to tip the scales
I think you lost what you loved
In that mess of details

I love the lyrics from At the Bottom of Everything, especially

We must memorize nine numbers/And deny we have a soul
For some reason, that sounds so much deeper than it actually is.

.

The Apple stores were having this deal a few months ago, where if you buy a laptop, and showed your college ID, you got a free IPOD mini; I wonder if its still going on.
