  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Nice avatar. Pedro's good stuff.

So Jeff, they made you change your avatar?

Yup. 18 hours after it went up, to be exact. It was 'change it, or we will', so *sigh*.........I changed it.

I love that picture, though. Classic.

Yeah, but that's SUCH a classic pic. It was worth it, if even only for a few fleeting hours.

Music produced by labels that are independant of giant, corporate labels. "Independant" labels. "Indie" music. Get it?

So, the debate could easily rage on for pages upon pages. But maybe, just maybe, I gave a satisfying answer with the above line.

I've been listening to quite a bit of Wilco lately, and noticed that they're coming to Indy in October. I'm debating whether it's worth the $35 ticket (plus fees). Has anyone seen them recently? I'm kinda thinking that there will be too big of a crowd.

Also, I've been really digging "Company In My Back" and "Wishful Thinking" from A Ghost is Born lately. I really think those songs can hold their own against anything Tweedy has released (that I've heard).

I saw Wilco perform at Messiah College, what? half a year after YHF released? Great show. I'd say that is a fair price, depending on the venue.

When I saw them it was a big auditorium, but most people kept seated while a "normal" bar venue sized crowd stood up front. Every show is different, of course, but I thought it was excellent.

i almost bought yankee hotel foxtrot a couple weeks ago, but then i didn't. i'd like to own it, though. (i'd also like for my friend to return my son volt cd [trace] that she's had for over a year. any of you guys into son volt?)

i also almost bought the soundtrack for the life aquatic. instead i got the holdsteady's (i think) most recent album, but i haven't listened to it yet 'cause i bought the album on a whim (having never actually heard the band before), and i'm scared i'm not going to like it. haha.
