I can understand wanting to not eat meat for health reasons or whatever... but to not eat meat because of how animals are treated is pretty ridiculouls. I mean, have you watched animal planet recently? I don't think the lion was being very "humane"

Perhaps you should watch "Meet Your Meat" sometime...trust me, the lion is very humane when compared to the American meat industry.

...pudding? Anyway, at least the gazelle the lion ate lived a free and healthy life up until that point unlike your battery hen which went into your McChicken sandwhich.

ALso, does anybody know what happens when you connect an iPod with music loaded onto it to a pc with iTunes where the music library is empty? It doesn't try to automatically synchronise and download all the music onto the pc does it? Cos that would be a pain...

Congrats! You can't transfer music from an iPod to a computer (at least not that I know of), so you should be okay. A message should pop up asking you if you want to make that library your default. If you chose to do this, it should delete everything off of your iPod. I'm not positive about this though.

The only way to get music from the iPod to the computer is through programs like SharePod. If iPods sent music to computers there would be a lot music industry execs upset (people could lend friends their iPod and essentially share 20-60GB of music in a matter of minutes).

Yes, that's the easy part. With iTunes, it updates your iPod with new songs on your computer every time you plug it into your computer. Or you can do it manually, which helps when you max out your iPod.

Well, I can't speak for the meat industry as a whole, but I did work for the USDA for 7 years as an inspector. I had to be present in the slaughterhouses to observe each animal-cows, pigs, sheep, or goats- being slaughtered.

I can tell you that, as far as I and my co-workers were concerned, we made sure the animals were treated humanely before slaughter, and that the proper stunning technique was followed to insure the animals didn't suffer.

As I said, I can't speak for the entire industry, but I know that on the State Government level, humane treatment of animals was uniformly observed.

Which is why I haven't stopped eating meat.

Welcome to the darkside. I just sold my 20G U2 iPod and bought the 30G Video iPod, too. It's sweet. I've been assimilated, and I'm proud of it...

but you CAN get it from the computer to the iPod, right? My whole decision of getting one hinges on that.

Oh yeah. When you get your iPod, it'll come with the iTunes software install disk. It'll ask you if you want iTunes to go find all your music files and import them into iTunes, which, in turn, will dump them into your iPod when you get it formatted and everything.

Please get one. Let yourself be sucked into the Matrix. It won't hurt...

I got sniped at the last minute on the iPod I was bidding on. So what that means is that I will go iPod-less for the rest of my life now. Exxxcellent.
