Yeh. I got that such is your interpretation. I'm glad you offered it. I just disagree. The article never once mentions Catholics and the contents are applicable to all pro-life people.

Sure... I agree that it is applicable to many more people than just Catholics. I was just trying to make a more modest argument by referring only to my own Church rather than critiquing a large swath of non-Catholic Christians. It is also true that the Catholic Church holds the premises of their argument as unequivocal doctrine, so it is harder for Catholics to reject the argument.

Anyway, take care!

you are entitled to get out from under that condition.
There is truth in the entitlement comment. Its (at least) coveting and world- worship of idols in some way.

Its not an easy topic to discuss, or to figure out for the reality of daily life.

Well, as part of my Pro-life group, some of them don't undestand the link between abortion and contraception.

Of course there is. Contraception gives unmarried people the idea that they can do what they please and not have any consequences like babies, but of course, it can fail. As a pro life person I am also against chemical forms of birth control, is this what you are trying to say? I am confused by your post, please outline exactly what you mean.

Also not Catholic.

The inconvenient truth is that we all want to approve some kind of perversion of God’s plan for us, the ideal that we ought to live by. It’s not hard to understand or explain. A few in the Church want the green light to have abortions if they want them, a great many want to leave open doors for contraception, divorce, perverted sex or whatever, often under the cloak of economia. Because we want what we want. Some are honest enough to admit that we want wrong things, others pretend to righteousness and condemn some things loudly, while quietly justifying others to ourselves in elaborate self-deception.

Having efficient contraception decreases need for abortion. This seems like common sense.

I love how people feel that "unmarried people" have to be punished for not being married or something. Which already ignores that sane people even if they are married use contraceptives after certain point since having huge number of children is not feasible mentally or economically for large percentage of people which is why Catholics for example just plainly ignore this dogma and have birth rates similiar to their neighbours.

Efficient contraceptive measures for men and women would decrease suffering, decrease abortions and give people more control of their lives.

If fear of having contraceptive fail on your sidetrip to your neigbour`s wife is the only thing keeping your "real" marriage together perhaps there might be something else you need to do to improve things.

Talks about common sense and ignores the consequences sex before marriage has brought society.

Well, the bigger problem is that most people don’t engage in thought about what sex is, what contraception is, and what Christian teaching has always been. They generally speaking in terms of what is convenient in modern terms.

Which I find silly since we can say those things bring a harm to society. I have talked to non-religious people and even they agree those actions can be harmful.
