Whitetail deer and duck.

Wanting to go: Elk hunting and a hunting trip to Africa!

I've been hunting for several years now and have taken several deer, usually 1-2 a season. The biggest (antler size) was my first, a 6 point. The biggest (antler number) was a 9 point.

getting ready for deer season in Texas....

I don't go out to Hill Country and West Tx -- that what you see on all the hunting shows
I live and hunt in SE Tx, swamps & thickets
I was scouting last weekend---on a refuge that will have a draw hunt this year---jumped a bedded buck in a 10-15 yr old cut over---only saw him going away but the rack was FAR wider than his shoulders---I'm guessing he would've been sporting at 12+ points-----

waiting on squirrel season to open as well---I use squirrel hunting in Oct. to do a little scouting also....

ya'll be sure to shoot up a prayer for me and my 2 boys to be drawn for the refuge hunt....that'd be real sweet---2 miles from my house---4000 acres of prime bottom land.....

I'll let ya'll know how it goes---drawing is Oct 11

Bounty Hunter,

I love to hunt. In fact a couple friends and I just started a faith based camouflage company. Check us out God's Country Camouflage. Our website is godscountrycamouflage.com

I went bowhunting for elk a couple weeks ago. Close but no shots. Now I am gearing up for deer season here in Idaho.

What are your plans for fall?

Another hunter here:

I really like to hunt with a shotgun so consequently my favorite things to hunt are birds (ducks, geese, doves, etc.), rabbits, and squirrels. I also do a little whitetail hunting but it doesn't have near the appeal to me as sitting in a duck blind all day.

By the way are there any other clay shooting fans in here? I try to shoot trap and skeet every weekend, and I mix in a little 5 stand from time to time.
