I've seen cardboard boxes or tents set up at any kind of relative shelter from the elements being served eviction notices. Sad really.

Eviction notices on boxes/tents?

Yeah, I suppose they did wait until after winter... small blessings.

These people weren't making a mess: a simple tent or box =/,and their own little bin, that was it.

Did you hear about this girl on Youtube who is building, yes, "building" very simple and basic homes for the homeless?

The Holy Spirit moved me about 4 weeks ago to drive home from work a certain route. As I was traveling a certain highway, I saw young man, 30 yr old, with shoulder length hair almost staggering in and out of the lane along the edge of the road, barefoot, old dirty clothing, and a knapsack on a stick on his shoulder, in 100 degree weather. As I passed him, he spat on the ground in disgust. So I went down the road a quarter mile asking God if he was the reason I was meant to go that way, and the Spirit made me turn around. I passed him again by a quarter mile, and as I turned around down the road I looked in my back seat and found a quart sized bottle of water. Mind you the Spirit led me to see the water. I approached the man with my car, and asked him if he would like some water, and he said "yes". I handed him the water and said "Lord Bless you", and he said the same to me, after thanking me. We are to treat everybody we meet as if they were Jesus himself (remember Jesus attacked Jacob and named him Israel). I saw the man 2 weeks later on the same road with fresh clothing, shoes, and drinking a soda. I still felt no guilt, or animosity in giving him water.
Why would you feel bad for doing what God commanded? What you do for the least of these.

Yeshua was the word of truth. We read the gospels and they resonate that truth. We soak it in like water on a dry day. And then we're expected to do more than just be a fan. We're suppose to walk the talk on the page. In the image and the likeness, didn't just start in Genesis. Rebirth in the truth of God in Christ is opportunity to take the new creation reborn in that anointed image and likeness and live the Word. The good Word walking in the domain of the lord of this world. And all that he brings to counter that truth. As above so below. Darkness and light reflecting one another. It's what makes the worlds go round.

Ever notice? In the morning you're impatient about something, you criticize this or that. Foul mood.
Leave the house, go into your daily routine and what happens? You live an episode, at the same time or through the day, that causes others to do the same thing you did and to you, that morning. They're impatient with you. They give you or say outright criticism of you and or something you've done. (or didn't do)

I've long started paying attention to all those subtle causes for why life rolls along like it does. The bad stuff I feel for and yet when that's over with I look for the message. Why this and why now?
It has a calming affect really. Because sometimes I'll see how what's happening was foretold in the parables. The wisdom of how to cope. And then it makes sense. Because what was just a story I could have been reading, now I'm seeing what it meant in person.

It helps lift that victim complex too.

She's 9 years old

God's anointed. Bless her eternally.

What a role model. Now that's a reality TV worth letting your children watch.

I think God puts people and circumstances in our path so we can prove one of two things. Are we merely reading? Or are we hearing what we're told? Are we a spectator or an actor.

Bless her. I feel a little embarrassed, she's probably better at DIY that most of us. :D

LOL! I'm amazed at what she's able to do and her vision of what can be done and her simple and uncomplicated determination.

So they are evicted before the cardboard gets wet and disintegrates, blows away, or is lit on fire?
I think that's a good thing. You can't just arrest them for being outdoors, but building codes do
serve a common good purpose.

No, it would have been because they were in a place deemed not appropriate for public. This wasn't a place used by the public, or anyone else for that matter - just a relative shelter from the elements. Where they went now I don't know.

There is shelter that is subject to building codes and inspections.
Those are better places.

I don't live in America. My hometown will be very different to yours I imagine.

From living here I can think of very little good places for these people to stay in relative safety - from others and the weather.
