  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Over the years I've seen how the RCC brings the practices of pagan religions into their body to mingle with Gods word..... So I've pass the point knowing that like my OP on the Popes mitre hat - babylonian connection, I know that when I find New things about the RCC that pagan roots will not be far behind.

So when I saw that the pope knocks 3 times on the holy door, I knew to go and see where it got it's start... This time we'll travel to Egypt..

When a new temple was completed the king would go to the holy door and knock 3 times and then just like the RCC he goes in and illuminates the room.

Amenhotep III would take a hammer (same as pope) and strike 1 of the 16 doors or gates.
16 huh.... Wait I had read where I (believe) in the 50's the church added panels to the door .... Yep you guessed it 16 panels

that's as far as I went since I found what I was looking for..... Sadly

Which Egyptian dynasties engaged in this practice? I hope you understand that ancient Egyptian history is millennia in length and one can probably find examples of anything and everything being believed and practiced during that enormous time frame from strict monotheism to all variants of polytheism.

Well, he was dead wrong about the mitre-Babylon connection--as several of us showed--so I wouldn't expect much more to come of this "find."

Nor do I.

Me neither; people who continue to post crap like this, and the other thread, try to discredit the RCC, but, apart from a few like-minded hate mongers, end up discrediting themselves, and giving reformed protestants a much worse name than they deserve.:doh::doh:

what door did the Pope knock three times on?
did the Pope use a hammer?
did the pharaohs have doors with 16 panels?
or is it just the connection with the number 16 you are pointing out?
is there any symbolic reason behind either the Egyptians or the Catholics in using 16?
any aesthetic reason?
utility?

can you quote a source for any of this information on pagan Egyptian door knocking?

If I recall, you posted speculations, without proof. We asked for sources and I still haven't seen them. Why don't you go to that thread and post some more "proof"? I'd Love to see it.

3 times? It couldn't be to represent the Holy Trinity or anything like that.

Proof?
I knock on doors, ergo, I must be a pagan.

Amenhotep III would take a hammer (same as pope) and strike 1 of the 16 doors or gates.

Wow! 16! That proves without a doubt that the Pope is Pagan.

1.)Is Amenhotep III the only king to do this? Because there were a LOT of kings of Egypt. Just to put it into perspective, Cleo50patra lived closer to us now than she did to the completion of the Great Pyramids. About 2500 years, and that's just a slice of Egyptian History. Ancient Egypt lasted from circa 3200 to 30 BC, that's over 3000 year.

2) Can you show which temple this was to have 16 doors.

3) Quick Google search, and all I found was this thread and an article from a fundamentalist mormon site.
(BTW, the site said the Pharaoh struck the door with a mace, quite different from a hammer)

Well, I'm sure that we all are familiar with the prize in the bottom of the Crakerjack box.

These little gems seem to come from the bottom of the bull-cookie bin.;):p
