Psalms 25:10 The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him,
And He will show them His covenant.

The essential nature of this relationship is conveyed
by these words found in Job.

Job 15:8 Have you heard the secret counsel of God?
And do you restrain wisdom to yourself?

True fellowship among saints magnifies the counsel of God
Psalms 89:7 God is greatly to be feared in the counsel of
the saints, and to be held in reverence by all.

Righteousness found in Christ gives access by faith.
Proverbs 3:32 For the perverse person is an abomination
to the Lord, but His secret counsel is with the upright.

Jeremiah echoes the words of Eliphaz in Job 15, and points out
the tragic consequences of ignoring the counsel of the Lord
provided to His chosen ones.

Jeremiah 23:
17 They continually say to those who despise Me,
The Lord has said, you shall have peace. And to
everyone who walks according to the dictates of his own heart,
they say, No evil shall come upon you.
18 For who has stood in the counsel of the Lord, and has received
and heard His word? Who has marked His word and heard?

This is a steadfast confidence we have in the promises of God’s Word
Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His
secret counsel to His servants the prophets.

The Hebrew word here comes from the word for foundation.
[H5475]-sod=secret, private counsel>[H3245]-yasad=foundation
This is what the Lord is referring to here:

Matthew 7:
24 Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them,
I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:
25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and
beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

Consider this word in the setting up of Solomon’s Temple.
1 Kings 5:17 And the king commanded them to quarry large stones,
costly stones, and hewn stones, to lay the foundation of the temple.
1 Kings 7:10 The foundation was of costly stones, large stones, some
ten cubits and some eight cubits.

And now our Lord and Christ is the foundation of His Temple
Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus says the Lord God: Behold, I lay in Zion
a stone for a foundation, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure
foundation; whoever believes will not act hastily.

What does it mean to not act hastily?
To wait on the Lord, to hear His Voice!
The Secret Counsel of the Lord and True Righteousness

Romans 9:
30 What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not
pursue righteousness, have attained righteousness, even
the righteousness of faith;
31 but Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not
attained to the law of righteousness.
32 Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were,
by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone.
33 As it is written: Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and
rock of offense, and whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame.

To seek the Lord's Will by Faith is to Receive His Secret Counsel.
The fear of the Lord and the secret counsel of the Lord are both found
in His Presence. The first time you experience the Lord in the secret
place of your prayer sanctuary, you will know the fear of the Lord.
When you can clearly hear His voice amidst the noise of your own
thoughts, that fear will turn to unspeakable joy. This is why the Psalmist
says: “He will show them His covenant.”

This is absolutely mandatory to successfully doing the Lord's work.
Herein is the overcoming Christian life described by Paul.

1 Corinthians 3:
11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid,
which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver,
precious stones, wood, hay, straw,
13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it,
because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s
work, of what sort it is.
14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures,
he will receive a reward.
15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself
will be saved, yet so as through fire.
16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the
Spirit of God dwells in you?

How are we to build that which is priceless upon
the sure foundation of Christ?
Only by walking in the secret counsel of the Lord. If you do not yet
know His Voice, you do not know His fear, and you have not perfected
obedience to His Will. You have to get your mind right by the
transformation of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed
by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and
acceptable and perfect will of God.

This requires the humility of “a broken and contrite heart” Psalms 51:17
This is to participate in the building of the True Temple of the Spirit in Heaven.

Isaiah 66:
1 Thus says the Lord:Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool.
Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest?
2 For all those things My hand has made, and all those exist, says the Lord.
But on this one will I look: On one who is poor and of a contrite spirit,
and who trembles at My word.
