I use the Jerusalem Bible (Catholic edition, of course).
rom 16:1 - "I commend you to Phoebe, a deaconess of the Church..." (and probably the bearer of the letter since that was the custom)
rom 16:3 ....I'm not the only one to owe them a debt of gratitude all the churches amongst the pagen do..."
rom 16:7 "my compatriot and fellow apostle"
Certainly translations matter, and the translators choose words, when in doubt, that fit their conceptions so that those churches opposed to women in service use translations that minimise women's roles, and those that favor it use versuions that maximise, and so on.
Regardless of how we see of understand the texts I think it is impossable to deny that women had roles of leadership, prophesy and sanctity in the early Church.
