This morning my Pastor said Christ was the head of all humanity. I've always thought it was biblical to say there are two federal heads, Adam and Christ. In Adam all die but only those in Christ shall live so Christ is the federal head of His people only. How can Christ be the federal head of all humanity in a non salvific way?

Have a good Lord's Day,

jm

He is the King and ruler of all humanity but the Head of the Church, His elect.

Here is a sermon on Federal Headship:

How did he define this headship...Was He referring to all principality and power being given into His hand as the victorious and resurrected God/man?
Was he referring to federal headship (in which case I disagree with him).

My Pastor associated the headship of Christ with the love of God for all of humanity. It was said while preaching through 1 Cor.11, "But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God."

Yours in the Lord,

I don't believe that passage teaches God's love for all of fallen humanity.

I hate using passages for purposes for which they weren't intended. It's very unlikely that in 1 Cor 11 Paul was thinking of non-Christians. A better passage would be Eph 1:22, though again I don't think it's very clear what the passage says about God's attitude to those who aren't his people.
