The HCSB Bible is Awesome

I have read the entire books of Romans and 1 Corinthians in the HCSB and it's really easy for me to read while not sacrificing the deep meanings, e.g. the Living Bible.

Does anyone else have a good experience with it?

I had a copy once and liked it. Out of new translations, I certainly like it more than the ESV. It was a nice edition too (the Minister's/Paragraph edition). Kind of sad it isn't as popular within Baptist circles itself (seeing that it was first headed by them).

The HCSB is no longer printed now, btw. It's been revised and renamed as the CSB.

Changes from the HCSB to the CSB
With the goals of increased fidelity to the original Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic texts and increased clarity for today’s readers, the Translation Oversight Committee has updated the text of the Holman Christian Standard Bible. This translation, renamed the Christian Standard Bible, incorporates advances in biblical scholarship and input from Bible scholars, pastors, and readers to sharpen both accuracy and readability. In addition to a verse-by-verse review, the translation team also made changes to the HCSB text in the following areas:

Capitalization of Pronouns Referring to God

Use of “Tongues” Instead of “Languages” in Some Texts

Use of “Yahweh” as God’s Personal Name

Rendering Doulos as “Servant” Instead of “Slave”

Translating Gender Language into English

I have a CSB, and it's my favorite translation to read. I don't agree with a few of their choices (Lord's Prayer and Psalm 23), but love the rest of it.
