  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I’m worried that I’m getting myself a bit worn out with my overactive mind, constant researching of God, reading the Bible and nothing else matters.

It’s causing a touch of anxiety that if I don’t do everything concerned with God daily then God will be disappointed in me. I’m not just talking about simple reading, I’m talking about God being in my mind literally all day. Should I take it as a blessing or can I take little breaks, then come back to Him later in the day or night to read my Bible?

Im a man of extremes, it has to be all or nothing, but I understand this is a lifetime commitment, so is it better to be a Tortoise rather than a Hare?

The Lord doesn't want you to be stressed out by him. Trust Him and relax.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11;28-30

Theological understanding is the booby prize because most Christians have just enough religion to inoculate them against the real thing--a sustained intimate personal relationship with Christ.
Yes, feelings can be deceptive, but it's easier to feel your way to God than to think your way to God.
Sustained meditative practice and prayer are the keys to victorious living.

Thank you all for your counsel

I just had a day reading less yesterday. I still did my prayer work.

I picked back up this morning with renewed and calmer thinking in this respect and finished off Exodus in my Bible journey. This morning I have been in prayer as I am every morning but I feel less inclined to research all day, which I believe is a gift from God because I asked for rest.

My time is better spent reading the word than watching endless YouTube videos on variable Christian topics. My instruction is to read and the gain understanding through videos on that particular subject.

God Bless you all

David
