• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The UY forum seems to have nothing uplifting in it. I recognize it's a support forum, but I think part of support is helping people to not forget to appreciate the good things that we have.

So tell me something happy about your spouse -- why you fell in love, what he or she DOES support you in, special talents he or she may have that you admire, how you have fun together, something he or she did for you that you appreciated... anything happy.

:)

I thought about starting a thread like this a short time back but I never got around to it I guess the Spirit handed the ball to you. I'm glad at least one of us was obedient. thanks. Ok what can I say off the top of my head?I can say she is generous, cute, and cudly, she works hard rarely calls in sick even when she probably should. But that is just a laundry list let me think of a story. we recently did a big spring cleaning being that the boys and I are slobs the house needed it. when it was done she decided we needed house plants. so off to the store we go. I have to rein her in because she is so enthusiastic. any plant I even look at she wants to buy for me. We got all the stuff we needed to repot them and she made sure they were potted as soon as she got home. Wich all may seem normal to most of you but this woman can ,and has, killed cactus from neglect. So now I have to steal the care and placement of the plants from her or they will be short lived.but she means well and if they thrive she will be delighted and will happily give me credit for keeping them alive. Anyway I just love her enthusiasm for starting little projects like this.Cory

I think this is a fabulous idea!

And I'm going to 'abuse' my powers as a Mod and Stick this too!

Thanks M.

As for what my wife does that makes me happy - So much, where to start?!

She is a great Mum, she is brilliant at organising things, she is intuitive and sees to the heart of problems long before I do and she helps me to see things clearly by talking through issues.

I love her

Pete

Great thread, and good to make into a sticky!
I started a thread on 'good things about our spouses' once, but over time it went to the bottom of the list.
That won't happen to this sticky!

I think it's ever so important for us to daily remind ourselves of the blessings we have in our spouses. (And some days that's harder to do than others ... )

Here is what I wrote about my husband previously:
Here are the things I love about my husband:

He is a very caring and loving guy. He is dependable and committed. He is faithful.
He is very laid-back and generally a gentle person to be with.
He is very clever and has all sorts of knowledge in all sorts of areas. He has an answer to everything (now, that can be a bit of a mixed blessing! ;) )
He is also very practical and seems to be able to fix most things we manage to break in our house!

glo :)

This might be alittle off what you guys are asking for, but I'm happy and wanted to post....

Sitting with my DH the other night when he says to me....."so where in the Bible does it say believers have to obey God"

He listened to me read several different places in the Bible...and even asked me to print some off for him.....to show a guy at work....

yes the alterior motive is he's working with people who say they believe but bare no fruit and they keep coming down on him for not believing....but praise the Lord, he's asking about the Bible and listening to it's word and reading it.....a good move in the right direction of having a better understanding of the Lord:bow:

My husband works soooo hard and is sooo responsible. He's smart and logical, when we have things to deal with. Has anybody ever heard the song, you say it best when you say nothing at all ? it's a country song, that's what I think of when I think of DH.

here are the words

It’s amazing how you can speak right to my heart
Without saying a word you can light up the dark
Try as I may I could never explain
What I hear when you don’t say a thing

The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There’s a truth in your eyes sayin’ you’ll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you’ll catch me if ever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all

All day long I can hear people talking out loud
But when you hold me near, you drown out the crowd
Old mr. webster could never define
What’s being said between your heart and mine

The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There’s a truth in your eyes sayin’ you’ll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you’ll catch me if ever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all

The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There’s a truth in your eyes sayin’ you’ll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you’ll catch me if ever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all

DH brings me breakfast in bed every weekend or when he is on holidays.

He likes to spend time with his family and never goes to the pub after work instead of coming straight home to be with us.
Great. Maybe reward him by insisting he goes to the pub after work now and again. It's good to receive, but even better to give.

He might say no initially due to shock, but keep at it and watch him take on the chance with glee (that's if he still has any pub-friends after being so devoted to family life).

You do realise this song was written by a hen-pecked man trying to use reverse psychology to shut up his nagging wife?

I love my husband so so so much! And he loves me so so so much too! He is always happy to hug me/kiss me when needed, he is a great listener... he organises me... and talks sense into me when I make no sense at all! God talks through my Pete in so many ways I've lost count - and any time I find my faith fading he pushes me into changing gear again! He is one amazing husband who actually encourages me to be me and I love him for it!

There is so much more I can say about my hubby, just give me a week and I'll write it all! lol
