  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yeah. I laugh everytime I see that little boy come onscreen and scream. He sounds like a kitty!
I love that scream and his little eyes seem to suck me in every time!

I get nightmares pretty easily so I am scared to see this film... but at the same time, I can't wait to see it.

Kinda bummed already tho... Sarah Michelle apparently is already in the works for a sequel... I wish they'd quit sequeling everything to death.

Hahaha, I know, when I first saw that I thought it was a commercial for one of those comedy movies that makes fun of horror movies, like Scary Movie or something.

I went to see it on Friday...

Horrible movie. The story appears at first to be "gelling" up to a climax, yet there is no climax at all. The scares were your typical "showing a character facing left, slowly turning towards the right, switch screen quickly and abruptly to the image of something scary" for a cheap jolt in your seat. They literally mimic this same tactic 6-7 throughout the movie to produce 98% of the scares.
Gellar couldn't act her way out of a wet paperbag, and truthfully, even though I'm a huge "Buffy" fan, Michelle gave the worst acting performance of the entire cast.
Even towards the end, I was compelled to say "Why doesn't she just slap that slow moving thing out of her way, instead of just stand there while the thing inches its way closer to her face for 10 minutes of screen time?"

I know I know, thats because its "supposed" to be because she's so terrified she can't move, but Michelle just had that dumb "jaw dropped down" look, instead of intense fear that they were trying to convey to the audience.

Seriously gang, its a rental at best.

When will they go back to the days of "atmospheric" terror, that made the best hollywood classics, instead of cheap "quick, spin the camera around!" sight gags to scare folks?

Anyway, just my opinion, and you know what they all say about opinions...

Ebert and Roper both gave it thumbs down. They also both said it was so bad they were tempted to walk out, but didn't because that was something they never practiced.

To me it just looks too gimmicky. I love horror but haven't felt the slightest interest in seeing this. How could true horror movie makers use someone like Gellar?
