THE GREATEST MIRACLE
Mark 2:8-12
“Why do you reason about these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise, take up your bed and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the paralytic, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”
Two miracles, but which is greater? Jesus performed the one to show He had the authority to perform the greater. The crowd, however, couldn’t see the order in which Christ placed these miracles because they were looking only with their eyes. And I believe even today most of us would put these miracles in the same order. If we witnessed a person's limb grow back, or a paralytic friend stand up from their wheelchair we would be floored with excitement, and for good reason, but how excited are we every morning that our sins are forgiven? Why do we so often take this treasure for granted? Because our flesh has no desire to bring to light that which we deserve. God’s righteous and holy law allows for only one escape from the eternal fire by which we stood condemned. We were stained with dirty rags, condemned to death, but the Holy God of all mercy had another plan! It took a lamb without blemish, the Son of God Himself to leave His splendor and come and die in our place...
Philippians 2:6
Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
In all humility and filled with an eternal LOVE He made Himself known to us. He did not count His equality with God something to be grasped, but rather washed their feet on His predestined journey to the Cross! He suffered outside the gate through a brutal death so we could have life IN HIM. A perfect forgiveness by the shed blood of Christ is miracle without equal!! We stand in the presence of our God clean and spotless by the blood of His dear Son! Having our sins nailed to the cross we can approach Him with boldness, freedom, and confidence!! So let us rise every morning in this PERFECT ASSURANCE praising the FATHER OF LIGHTS FOR THE GREATEST MIRACLE ALL! THANK YOU FOR SENDING YOUR SON!!
Revelation 1:5
To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood
Grace and Peace...
