• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

There may be some who want to have my friendship. But there is no one who is willing to pay millions of dollars to win my frienship. I have known my next door neighbors for years. But they haven't spent a dime to earn my friendship.

But there is one person who values my friendship highly. His name is Jesus. He wants to have my friendship so much that if I do not think of him daily, he becomes jealous. His affection for me is so great that he shed his blood to win my heart. He wants to become heart-to-heart friends with me. He proved his heart by going to the cross. Now he wants me to prove my heart by loving him dearly.

There is another spiritual being that wants my heart. He is the Devil. He wants to have my heart so that he can betray me and crush me, and eventually destroy me.

My heart is of immense value to both Jesus and the Devil. Both want to have my heart: Jesus to give joy and peace, and the Devil to destroy me. Jesus to honor me as a true friend, and the Devil to enslave me.

I cannot stay neutral. If I reject Jesus, I get overpowered by the Devil. If I reject the Devil, Jesus will have my heart. It's one or the other, no middle ground. I must decide whom to love and whom to give my heart to.

Like all my brothers and sisters here, I made the decision: to give my heart to Jesus and love him only. I became a Christian.

My wife, before marrying me, could seek out any man at any time. She could receive gifts from any man. But now, after marrying me, if she was not happy with my provisions and sought another man's provision, she would be an unfaithful wife.

Once I became a Christian, I became an exclusive bride for my bridegroom, who is Jesus. If I wasn't happy with what Jesus gave, and sought what the prince of the world provides, I would be an unfaithful bride, an adulterous wife.

The prince of the world is truly rich with lures of the world. Expensive jewelry, big houses, expensive cars, fashionable clothes, lustful pleasures, continous excitement, etc. But all come with an additional price tag: slavery to the prince of the world.

Nobody is born as a bride of Jesus (perhaps with the exception of John the Baptist). All Christians are born again, after following, for some time, the prince of the world, which is the Devil.

When I was following the Devil, he wasn't paying any attention to me. I was completely hooked by the lures, money, fame, more money, more fame, more lustful thoughts, more and more.

As soon as I became a Christian, I got the full attention of the Devil. He wanted me back to his slavery, that is, resentful, angry, neglecting my bridegroom, full of unhealthy and lustful thoughts and deeds.

My brothers and sisters who are self-injuring and depressed:

I am afraid if we are we going back to the slavery that we came out of. I urge all of us to give our hearts to Jesus, to him alone, like a wife gives her heart to her husband.

Let us love our Bridegroom only, by intoxicating us with his love, which is the words of the Bible, and his love wine, which is his spirit. The urge of self-injury, depression, resentment, and unforgiveness will run away from us, and our minds will be filled with godly desires.

I sincerely hope all will join me in rededicating our hearts to Jesus. Amen.
