But what you mention Byrd saying doesn't include anything about an ice wall. As for why it was called Operation High Jump, it wasn't because they had to jump over ice walls. A Google search brought up this AI Overview:

Most are looking in the wrong place instead of looking for the continent of Antarctica (which BTW doesn't exist) they should be looking on the utter outskirts for the ring of Antarctica.

I have read your apparently anonymous link, which just seems to say that the writer feels there was something strange about Operation High Jump. He doesn't mention an ice wall.
