Sorry but this doesn't tell me how the sunset manged its different location.

Sunrise is in the east and sunset is in the west. This happens all over the planet at different times because the earth is a sphere. When the sun is in Wales where you live then is night on the other side of the sphere.

For me something strange happened yesterday which I hope someone can explain to me.

Yesterday I saw the sunset over the ocean, usually I never see the sunset, as where I live the sunset is usually blocked by the mountain to the side of me, but yesterday I saw it set over the ocean & what a sight it was, it was glorious.

So my question is, how has the sun manged to set in different place ?

Atmospheric inversion? We've all seen a hot road become shiny and reflect the sky. That same sort of thing can happen in the atmosphere reflecting things from down over the horizon that you usually wouldn't see.

It's the same reason why there is no sun in the Arctic during the winter and 24 hour sun in the Antarctic at the same time. It's the tilt of the globe earth's axis of rotation.

During the winter months north of the equator, the northern hemisphere is tilted away from the sun, making the sun appear at a much more shallow angle of elevation in the sky. This means it rises later and sets earlier than it does during the summer months. And that means it rises and sets in different places than in summer.

And by the way, did you notice how it actually goes down below the horizon maintaining its size, and not rotating further away while reducing in size?

The simple answer is that you will be able to see the sunset a few times a year so cherish those moments. The other simple answer is that it proves that the earth is a sphere because of the tilt of the axis. A flat earth has no axis.

As @Phil G has explained, because the earth's axis is tilted, the sun in the Northern Hemisphere follows a more Southerly path from East to West during Winter and a more Northerly path in Summer while here in the Antipodes (Australia) it does the opposite.
I hope you get to experience many, many more Winter sunsets.

Yes, and sunrises. I often see the sun risen over the sea. And sunrises and sunsets show the earth to be a revolving globe -if it were flat, the sun would seem to get larger and larger the nearer we got to midday, then smaller and smaller as we approached night.

No that’s wrong. And the reason it’s wrong is because, as you have observed, the sun went below the horizon and did not reduce in size as it set.

If the earth was flat, the sun would not have gone below the horizon and would have reduced in size as it got further away,

The evidence against flat earth is there and you have seen it.

Then where does the sun go when night falls and don't say it's because of the movement of the earth b/c the earth doesn't move, it is only the sun, moon & the stars that move.
