2Ti 1:6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
2Ti 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
The Father has given us the spirit of power, love, a self-discipline(a sound mind)
the word for sound mind in the greek is sōphronismos meaning:1) an admonishing or calling to soundness of mind, to moderation and self-control
The Father will not insult the Son by giving Him a bride that is bored, compromising, weak, and without passion. The devil is not threatened by a passionless church.
Through the fire of passion the Father gives us a thirst for more, through suffering we learn obedience just as Jesus did, for He is our forerunner, and we run after Him with the passion of the Holy Spirit. We are called to stir up our gift, and what is that Gift of God but the Holy Spirit? STIR IT UP my fellow Gift bearers. That spirit is power, love and self-discipline, for we have been given all things that pertain to Godliness.
Think on these things oh my fellow gift bearers:
Phl 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.
By doing this we can begin to stir the flames of love within us to ignite the passion for the Bridegroom our Beloved.
