No it was sin by disobedience , what destroyed most food was God's curse upon land which will be reverted when Christ come.

Since then everything is dying slowly from generation to generation , ground become desolate having no minerals and plants have less vitamins and nutrition . On top of that humans change plants for worse due to greed.
