Galatians 5:17 matches up with Romans 7:21. Everyone has a sinful nature which they battle with everyday.

Actually Paul told you that the "old man is crucified with Christ" and you are to "reckon it dead".

The reason you are this right now.........>"that which i would do, i can't and that which i hate i do"......is because you have not done what Paul told you to do.
So, that old man, is in your head, the carnal mind....is running your flesh.
Thats the issue that everyone has who is trying to self will themselves to be righteous, by works and striving against sin.

Listen,
You can't live a holy life, a perfected discipleship that way, as when you are trying to be good to be accepted by God , and you are trying to resist sin to stop sinning, then... "The Law is the power of sin", causes you to have more sin consciousness and that enflames your flesh to want to sin more.
BurningBush84, that is the "curse of the Law" and "Christ came to free the born again from the curse of the Law">..

Paul teaches that to stop sinning is to REST in God's Grace, by the knowledge of being "Made righteous"... as that is the "Helmet of Salvation".
As when you come to the revelation knowledge of """" being made the righteousness of God in Christ"" then that mind of the flesh that is empowering the Law that keeps you in that sinning and confessing trap, will fade away.

Paul teaches that you have to "RENEW your mind", and that means to exist in the right mind of Faith.

What is that?

To only see yourself as God sees you......and God only sees the born again as "made righteous". "In Christ'... "one with God".... '"having eternal Life".

I don't disagree with the passages that you provided. But you disagree with the passages I provided and are acting like they are not inspired by God.

Im not acting.

see, i can bend the bible and teach self saving, or how to lose your salvation, or water baptism saves you.

I know all the cult twisted verses that they use to teach all this Cross denying LEGALSIM, but i dont teach any of that self saving junk.

I teach Grace...... Deliverance, .. The Cross of Christ and . How to perfect your discipleship....

I teach this....>"Christ always gives me the Victory"......as that is Pauline Theology that is related to the Cross and the New Covenant.

Self saving ? Twisting ? Junk ?

"Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation....".

2 Corinthians 7:10. Paul wrote that not me.

If you are born again, then your repentance came before you were saved.

You repented from "unbeief", to "belief"... (Faith in Christ).....so, repenting is over once a person is born again., and that is 2 Corinthinans 7:10.

Now, its all about.....>"Christ always gives me the Victory", and .... "I can do all things Through CHRIST"..

Repenting is for unbelievers, who are under the law.
The born again are "not under the Law, but under Grace".

Chaleb, your kinda sounding like the Pharisee in Luke 18:11,
"The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.".

There is a reason that Paul never wrote a verse that says...>"today i confessed my sin".

If you read all of what He said , when he was giving a testamony that details that he was "sinless in the law"< yet..." that which i would do i can't and that which i hate i do"..
See that?
He isn't saying he's stuck in......>"sin, confess, and repeat"......as He just told you that he is BLAMELESS in the LAW".

And that struggle he is teachig about, is to help us understand that when we try to live the Christian life as "striving against sin", then we will sin more., and think about sinning more, as victory over our carnality, is not found in trying to be good and do right.
Its only found in knowing that we have become already.........born again....."made righteous".......as "the righteousness of God in Christ".

Its by knowing this is who we have become as a "new Creation" in Christ"....born again.....that we can REST from the self effort to be what only the Grace of God can provide.

God's Grace is our place of sanctuary and REST from our self righteousness that is the striving and the working and the failing.

The tax collector was only praying for ten dollars, the Pharisee had greater matters on his mind.

So the Pharisee gave the tax collector ten dollars and then said,
"Now God, can I have your attention please."

Not at all.
How do you know?

Its because .....and note this BurningBush84... i only give Christ Jesus all the credit do Him, alone...for saving us and keeping us saved...

When a person is trying to work at that, then what Paul teaches, to them, sounds like...... what you are describing.

Look at this verse.

"God , who began SALVATiON... in the Born again........will HIMSELF be FAITHFUL to complete it'.

See that?
That's true.

Christians should not be praying the Lord's Prayer. That is your stance. I'm sure Satan totally agrees with you on that .

Im not certain why you would try to impugn me with that lie, but, that's on you, BurningBush84.
Pride perhaps?

Listen,
If you are born again, and you want to confess sin, and try to work to be saved and stay saved, and quote the Lord's Prayer, then i gues you will.

When you posted to me previoulsy = about praying the Lord's Prayer, i pointed out that this was Given to OT Jews, before the Cross and that the phrase "forgive us our sins".........is not applicable to a born Again Christian, because Jesus on the Cross has already become :

= THe NEW Covenant...

Hebrews 10:14

"the one time eternal sacrifice for sin",

and

"God has made Jesus to be sin for us"... 2 Corinthians 5:21

and..

2 Corinthians 5:19

"""""that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them."""

and Romans 4:8 says that God does not charge sin to the Born again.

See all that?
That is why The Lord's Prayer .... specifially : "forgive us our sins"......is not Literally speaking to a Christian who is a part of the New Covenant.

Now, as i said, no need to lie, and if you want to pray that Prayer, then by all means......Pray it today and tomorrow.

So what about 1 John 1:9 ???? Is it just another verse that doesn't mean what is says ????

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

And 1 John 2:1 , "My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.".

Yet , 1 John 3:9 says the Born again do not sin.

Romans 4:8 says that God does not charge SIN to the born again.

And, "God made Jesus to be sin for us". and""" Jesus is the one time eternal sacrifice for our sin"

So, Here is what Paul told you..

Hebrews 6:1.. .is telling you that the baby christian, has to get past the "sinning" "worrying about repenting".... carnal stage of their wrong faith.

See, the mature believer, does not post about sin or enduring or "Here is how i can lose my salvation" because the Mature believer, has left all that carnal broken christianity long ago.

Thats the answer. BurningBush84.

See, the Carnal Christian, is devoted to trying to be good, and the Mature Christian is devoted to knowing they are "made righteous" and are ="Christ always gives me the Victory". And this Grace of God is their Power to live the perfected walk of Faith.

The mature believer is this..."as many as be PERFECT"........Paul teaches.

"The fullness of the stature of Christ"... as Paul teaches we are to become on this EARTH.

Your walk of faith, starts with becoming born again, as "the rightousness of God, in Christ".
This means the born again START finished, regarding being """ MADE righteous."""
Then, they begin their walk of faith, and most have to go through a "trying to be like Christ" period of failure, until they learn who they have become "in Christ" as a "new Creation" = "the renewed mind".

Until they learn this, they are Hebrews 6:1 and most stay there for life.

Start here Burningbush84......and stay there for LIFE>

= Hebrews 13:9

= Romans 3:21-28

Repentance is a work—not done by people to save themselves, but produced in them by the Holy Spirit = Philippians 2:13

Your verse is speaking about the Power of God in a person to live in victory, which you should be doing, as "I can do all things through Christ"

"Repentance", means to turn away from something you need to "repent of"........something that you should not be doing.
