Jeremiah 16:19 O Lord, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.

That may be true, but the sun doesn't set for part of the year in Eskimo country. No sunset, no beginning of Sabbath. I guess one solution would be to move where the Sun sets. Better yet accept the real truth that the Sabbath was a law for Israel and has no meaning for Christians.

You still don't get it brother.

What book have you been reading or what thread gave you been participating on?

Jesus said so much about the Sabbath on the Four Gospels and it seems you were probably half asleep or on a daze that you missed what He said.

Do you believe in Jesus or about Him? or do you understand what you read?

I am at a loss with you and several other brothers here that our purpose here is to share the truth but some people don't want to see it.

Well, is kind of what Jesus said about hearing and seeing.

Look it up brothers in the scriptures. Jesus in His message to Laodicea said to buy EYESALVE so you could see.

If you research what eyesalve is and UNDERSTAND why Jesus said that, you'll be at a gain.

May all of us use that eyesalve properly and see His TRUTH.

SAAN:

<< 15th Thursday- Sabbath(Feast of Unleavened Bread) No work allowed. >>

I don't believe that chronology of Passover is correct. Jewish sources say that Passover, or Pesach, lasts for eight days. It lasts from the first sabbath of Passover to the second sabbath of Passover. The only days when work isn't allowed is the first two days and the last two days. That would be Saturday and Sunday and then Friday and Saturday. Part of the problem is that you say that the Feast of the Unleavened Bread is celebrated on Thursday. In fact, the whole eight day period is the Feast of the Unleavened Bread. Jewish sources tell me nothing about a Thursday when no work is allowed.

The folks who say that Jesus was crucified on a Wednesday don't have their facts straight, they simply spread confusion.

Judaism 101 site:

<< Pesach lasts for eight days (seven days in Israel). The first two days and last two days of the holiday (first and last in Israel) are days on which no work is permitted. >>

Mark 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

In typical SDA fashion, you have construed this verse to mean the opposite of what it says.

Jesus says that the sabbath is not an incomprehensible Divine command to test our patience.

The Sabbatarians say that it is.

The Sabbath is a blessing God has granted us, a day of rest for our weary souls. I don't see how resting is a burden.

@Dale

He died at 3:00 PM on Wednesday.

He was resurrected at 3:00 PM on Saturday.

He should not call those days either Wednesday or Saturday because you are paying homage to other gods or the creation and not the creator.

God called them:
The first day of the week, the second day of the week and so on to the last day of the week, the day if rest= shabbat ( hebrew)

So Jesus died in the middle of the week at the nineth hour of the day. (There is a ninth hour of the night)

Jesus was resurrected on the day of rest at the ninth hour of the day.

How long was He in the center of the Earth (His spirit) ????

Exactly 72 hours = Exactly 3 days and 3 nights.

His body was placed in the tomb at before sunset. But His spirit left the body at the ninth hour, so if you start counting from the time He was placed in the tomb, what was his spirit doing for three hours?

You start the count from when His spirit departed to the center of the Earth.

Mark 2:27

Is very simple and you do not need to be an Einstein to understand it.

Too many people refuse to open up their eyes and to open up their ears to the truth and they do not want to pay attention what Jesus said.

Have you bought EYESALVE?
Do you know what is the meaning of EYESALVE?

That was Jesus' message to the ecclesiastical of today.

What I perceive is that the church of today is not part of the "ekklesia" that Jesus created when He was in this Earth.

Jesus said it that some will hear but not understand and they will also see but will not comprehend
and see this happening here in this forum and many others.

If you really want to know the true truth, you need to know Jesus well like a friend, more than a friend, like a confident.

Some will probably attack what I'm saying like it has been done before.

They will ask: show me your credentials, who are you to be so arrogant with what you say.

I'm a humble servant of Jesus.
Glory be to Him.
I'm trying to show others that I believe I'm going the right way because I gave my heart and mind to Him. He created me and gave me a powerful brain to understand His message.

If you don't let go of your traditions. You'll never understand what a few of us are telling you people.

Get to know Jesus. You need to read, understand and comprehend the entire Bible.

To do that you also need to understand a little bit of the original languages because it was written on those languages and in some cases you yourself will be able to see the fraud that has been perpetrated with the translations and with improper interpretations.

I have seen how people explain that Jesus was resurrected early on Sunday morning or at the beginning of the last day of the week, Sunday at the 0 hour of the day. They need to look at the original Greek and they might find the error.

Some say that Mark 16:9 says it, but they do not know the big lie that was made with the trsnslstion. Greek dies not have punctuation marks but if you know God's intention you'll know that something is missing also the verses 9 through the end were not on the original scriptures and scholars found that this section has 19 words never used by Mark.

Did you people know this?

Peace may be with you brothers.

Not sunset.

Did you read at what time the spirit of Jesus left His body?

Not sunset but the 9th hour that is equal to 3:00 PM OR

in between the 2 afternoons:

The early afternoon: Noon to 3:00 PM, and

The late afternoon: 3:00 to 6:00 PM.

EXACTLY AT 3:00 PM

So if you count 3 days and 3 nights that is exactly 72 hours, then you get to the day of rest, a shabbat, the 7th day of the week and NOT the 1st day of the week at EXACTLY the 9th hour or the 3:00 of our days.

NEVER ON SUNDAY.

Yes, He certainly did say much about the Sabbath. Much of it was defending breaking it. Sabbath was ritual law that could be broken. David's guards broke it Joshua and his men broke it Moses broke it. All the Israelites broke it. Gentiles have never had to worry about breaking it because we have never been under it. For Christians it is a mere shadow, a law that Israel, including Jesus, was under until the death of Jesus on the cross.

Do you believe in Jesus or about Him? or do you understand what you read?
Not about Him, in Him. He came to save all mankind and He did what no man could do and He dide taking the place of me and my sins. One thing He never ever asked from me or anyone else is to go back to the law of Moses and observe rituals of a defunct nation. You are the one that asks us to do that and you are so wrong for doing so.

I am at a loss with you and several other brothers here that our purpose here is to share the truth but some people don't want to see it.
Have you ever considered the fact that we have the truth and are sharing it with you, but you will not see it?

I have eye salve, I have the eyesight of the Holy Spirit. Maybe it is you that needs much salve.

Claim the promises.

Only one question.

Do you believe that Jesus was resurrected on Sunday?

Yes or No.

Very simple.
I cannot give you a yes or no answer because it isn't that simple. What is important to all of us is that Jesus overcame the grave and is alive and sitting at the right hand of the Father in Glory.

Some believe that the calendar used during that period was the lunar calendar which does not relate to any of the other calendars. Whether it was exactly 72 hours or partial days, it was 3 days. Whether it was on the fourth day or the sixth day that He was crucified why argue which? Whether He overcame death on the eve of the first day or in the morning of the first day or for that matter if the writer got it all wrong and it was the second day, who really cares. That is why I have stayed out of the discussion.

Matthew, Mark, Luke and John make it clear that Jesus was resurrected on the first day of the week.
Your argument is against 4 different accounts in the scriptures.
Is the KJV unreliable?
Mat 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
(Clue: The Sabbath had ended. What day should we say comes after the Sabbath?)

Mar 16:2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.

Mar 16:9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.

Luk 24:1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.

Jhn 20:1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
(The morning of the first day of the week.......)
Jhn 20:19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
(The evening of the first day of the week)
