The Fires of Purification (add on)

Rain lashed out, he needed to be free. He tried calling out, but a guard told him to be quiet.
"Where are we going?" The guard looked at him and shook his head.
"Sorry, can't tell you, but what I can tell you is to just sit back, it will be a while..." Rain sat back, he began to cry for no reason at all...Suddenly, he felt all the pain of battle. Scars began to actually show, and he felt the sadness of all that had died...He felt their pain as well...His body squirmed and spasmed. He began to cry out, he saw the loved ones of those he killed, he saw them cry...
"Noo! AgH! Nooo! Please, make it stop!" Flashes of pictures ran through his brain as he kept seeing everything...People he did not even know...ever....
"What is wrong with me? Help me please!?"

The thought of murder haunted Asrele, she had to do it... God would understand... She was being held prisoner... What was wrong with her? She couldn't breath, "He was helpless. He was only lonely..." She thought, "Yet he was evil, but sad..." Her thoughts kept switching on good and bad parts of the situation. She cursed "Why?! Why am I even here? I should be at home!" She cursed again, "If God is so great than why am I a killer?! Why am I in pain? It's not fair!" She spat.
Out of no where a pain struck her shoulder. "Oh no!" she thought "I had my eyes closed!!"
"What's this? A stowaway? Hmm Follow me." A guard was standing above her, pressing his sword into her arm.
"No, you've got it wrong." Asrele pleaded, "I was with... Drawmel..."
"Yes, it is all clear now... he was just found-"
"I ran and hid when someone killed him... I ran, because... I didn't want to die... and I..." Asrele swallowed, "I... loved him." She flinched as the guard lifted the sword.
"Carry on..." he said.
Asrele felt relief cover her in that second. The guard stood and watched her and he left, with a prisoner, and seeing him, covered in blood, she saw the fear in his eyes, and that brought back her fear of God.
"Now! look now! I am a liar! How can you be God when you let me kill, and lie!" She began to cry, blood slowly soaking her arm.

Delvan was lost in thought, when he noticed to sounds of battle dieing down. he loud footsteps, of many people on the deck, and comming down the ladder to the hold. He quickly closed him cape. he slowly walked into shadow. His cloak has quite powerful, but it had its limitations: for one it could not block out sound, also in direct light a shimmer in the air could be seen. Those who are wise and wary can find someone in an invisible cloak.
he kept close to the bulkhead, he saw a group of saliors, may of them dirty and wounded. Then he saw a stout sailor escorting, what looked like a prisoner, then he realised..it was rain...he looked tired , worn and was weeping. delvan thought "good, good...he's aboard, and it appears my work has not been entirely in vain.."

The guard approached Rain's cell, he looked at him as he twitched and thrashed and screamed. His pain was almost audible, his anguish was visible enough. As he came closer to the bars, the guard suddenly felt the anguish, he knew suddenly that his brother had been killed. Tears streamed down his face as he felt the waves of anguish and sadness of the people that had just died.
"Noo! Stop!" The guard looked at Rain, blue light waves began to swirl his body, like slashes in air they swirled and finally exploded outward. The blow knocked the bars out of the wood, and blew the guard back. Everything that it touched was immediately combusted. The cell burned and flamed, and Rain suddenly stood up, free from pain, and walked out of the cell.
As he reached the upper decks, he saw smoke rising from the floor boards. He looked at the weary guards, swords drawn.
"What are you?" Rain was suprised, he looked at his hands and realized that he was glowing white.
"I think your lower decks need to be doused, there is a fire...."

delvan slowly walked back towards his hidding place in the cargo hold. he felt tired and slowly drifting to sleep. when all of sudden he heard an explosion, he smelled smoke. He jumped up, closed up his cloak disappeared. the lower decks were in confusion. sailors yelling "fire". he heard "man the pumps!" Delvan sliped through the confusion to the upper decks. He hid in a barrel, and slowly peered out. the upper decks were full of activity. his eyes were soon drawn to a bright white glowing. at first he thought one of the crew was set aflame from the fire below decks, but the man didn't move. he act as if it was perfectly normal to be on fire. this was only a second when delvan realised, this was no natural fire. suddenly he felt pain through his eyes and running through his whole body. he gasped unguardedly "the light...." he hid deep in the barrel. then he realised that was his adversary Rain Tante. With his eyes hidden, the pain quickly went away.... Delvan hid in the barrel try to think of what he now must do.

Talia hailed the ship from the shore and the man on the deck waved back, his fingers curling.

Everything ok?"

Talia gestured, Sort of, do you see those ships in front of you, maybe you can towl one ashore. Things are getting nasty.

Recognition showed on the man's face, and she could see him nodding. Shouting to his crew, the ship sailed towards the other ships in front, and sailors started moving around with the big hook and rope. The fighting on the two ships had somewhat died down, it was a matter of rescuing the prisoners now. Signalling with a hand, the crew pulled on their oars and the ships drifted away towards the shore. People of ragged clothing, obviously prisoners were emerging from below, their eyes wild with bewilderment and fear, and there was a person walking about with a light enveloping him.

"What is that?" Kalim said, he was the captain of the ship, and he looked at Rain.
"What do we do, captain?"
"As long as he doesn't harm anyone, leave him be."

Asrele, sat thinking... "What am I to do...?" Then thoughts crept into her mind. "I must go back to Drawmel's cabin on the wpper deck... I Have to get my arrows back before they notice they're mine!"
She ran, as fast as she could. When she reached Drawmel's door she heard talking.
"Yes, these are the same arrows.. But who do they belong to?"
"I know, I saw a girl down near the cells... there was something weird about her."
"Right, lets find her and question her."
Asrele was struk with fear she couldn't move. She looked to the door and saw it swing open. "Excuse me miss," Came the voice of that same gaurd, as her grabbed her shoulder. "We have to talk to you."

Rain saw the ship sailing up towards him. In his state, all things were against him, he saw the true intentions of everyone, and his piercing gaze brought fear into all hearts of men. He stretched his arm out, white blazing around him, and concentrated on the front of the approaching ship. With two small words he smiled,
"Be purified..." Light shot from his arm and erupted on the deck with a large explosion. Fires spread rapidly and began to consume the front of the ship. Rain laughed, and his voice echoed, he shot in the air and floated.
"You shall all recieve Purification!" With that, chaos arrupted, as Rain sprayed the ship deck with teh exploding light/fire....

Things turned chaotic and it was obvious as to who was causing it.
"Someone stop him!" Kalim yelled and several people jumped on Rain, only got themselves singed in return, and they leaped over the side into the sea. Struggling to get the ship under control while Rain continued to shoot out fireballs, the two linked ships began to move towards the shore, but at top speed.

"We're gonna ram it!" Kalim shouted, the fire was now getting more intense and he couldn't tell where his crew's gone to.
----

"Look!" Lenai said, pointing to the ship. A figure bathed in light was casting fireballs around, and they could see Kalim trying to get the ship under control while fire erupted on the deck. Some of the crews had jumped overboard and several were attempting to unhook the two ships, but both ships were going to crash towards shore.
"He's gonna destroy the ship before they can land," Lenai said, calculating the distance in her mind.

Talia didn't hesitate. Quickly, she nocked another arrow and carefully aimed it at the stranger. She intented to wound him just enough to distract him, hopefully to stop him from throwing fireballs if that could be done. Straining, she waited, then let fire. The arrow sped towards Rain's shoulder.

Rain laughed, it all seemed perfect. The fact that everyone was being purified, and then, it was over. A strike in his shoulder took his mind immediately off of the ship. His eyes stared out farther than anyone's, and he saw the one who had shot it....

---------------------

Rain shot outward away from the boat, where he flew over, the light that reflected from his body set the water on fire. He saw that he was quickly gaining on the person who had shot him. The arrow still stuck out of his right shoulder, but suddenly the intense heat of his body incinerated the arrow to dust. He would not purify her, he would kill her....

--------------------

Inside of his mind, Rain was frantic. His mind was insane, and he wanted to be free. Something else was controlling him, he could not break free. It was as if the pain had been manifested into a new personality. The Fire of Purification, was this it? Was this what it was? No, this was something else....WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME??!!

what exactly is wrong with Rain?
----

The arrow hit its target perfectly, but something didn't seem right.
"Look at him, he's still throwing fireballs as if he couldn't feel the arrow," Lenai observed, fascinated.

Suddenly, the figure lifted off from the deck of the ship and started towards the group on the shore.
"He's flying!" Talia said, incredulous.
"And coming straight at us!" Lenai shouted, she and the others quickly nocked their arrows and fired. The hail of arrows flew true, but all were disintegrated when they came about inches close. The arrow protruding from his shoulder was also burnt into ash.
"Run!" someone yelled, pulling at Talia's sleeve. Talia didn't need another warning, for Rain was coming at top speed and his feet were about to touch down on the grass.
----

Kalim watched, worry creasing his forehead when abruptly an arrow was pludged into the stranger's shoulder. Kalim lifted his eyebrow in surprise and looked up, seeing Talia on the shore with her group of friends, but the danger wasn't past yet. Ignoring the stranger, Kalim tried to turn the ship away from shore, but the wind was driving it to where it didn't want to go, and the two ships were still locked together. Shuddering, the bottom of the ship made contact with the sea floor, and Kalim didn't even notice when Rain flew off towards his attacker.

"Abandone ship!" Kalim shouted, running towards the railing.

The guards tried to remain calm with Asrele but she went insane she started to yell "He was keeping me chained up! I had to kill him, and if you put me in one of those cells I'll kill you once I'm free!" She struggled to get out of their grip, they were strong, too strong... They started to walk and merely drug her along. She noticed something that instant, one of the guards had her arrows... and she had her bow. She would kill them, and anyone else who got in her way. She would take over the boat, and then... become queen, an evil queen...
They reached the deck of the boat, and suddenly, an extremely bright light filled the sky, Asrele covered her eyes. The guards stood staring at the light and she grabbed her arrows and threw the bag over her shoulder.
"Blast!" she yelled, "that light, it burns my eyes I must destroy the source, and the figure of a man, in the sky came into view. With an evil smirk she readied the arrow and lit it on fire, this fire was different more red than anything else, and blue lined the bottom. She let it fly into the air, but something in her plan failed, the arrow was hit, by this strange light and came back toward her, striking her to the ground.
A man walked over to her, he was shining with glory, it was the same man she saw being taken away by the guards.

He looked at Asrele and reached his hand out to help her up. "hello! My name is Zaret!" He looked at her, and she opened her eyes, they shined... red. She reached out and grabbed his hand and his skin flushed with the color red as it rushed to his eyes as well.
"I," Asrele said with an evil tone, "will be your queen."
Zaret smiled, a malicious smile and said, "And I, will be your king."

Delvan heard a great roaring and saw flashes of light go over head. Quickly he wracked his brain for a spell. still invisible he poked his head out of the barrel, warily, trying to directly avoid the light. he looked around, rain was gone. he scaned the horrizon. there he saw it there was rain in the sky, flying, brite like a comet. "ah..my prey wouldn't leave that easy".
delvan was preparing a spell when, he felt and heard a great crash. The crew was in chaos. "We're running aground" yelled a seaman who ran by.
delvan quickly jumped out of the barrel. ran to the side. he found a skiff, with two sailors getting ready to lower it. He dispatched thme quickly with his dagger. he lowered the boat and started towing for shore.
delvan could hear on deck a sailor scream "this sea is bewitched, first a fire demon, then a boat the rows itself, we doomed!"...
delvan snickered " all a bunch of fools"...but then delvan fumed.."this cursed rain, he is becoming very difficult, he must die!"

A lot of you have been wondering about the storyline pertaining to Rain and the Fire of Purification. The Fire is a living entity itself, but was tainted when it entered Rain’s body. Rain is therefore allowed to feel the pain of everyone around him and when the pain becomes so concentrated, he wants to purify it, hence the Fire of Purification comes out. The Fire itself is not inherently bad, but was tainted when Rain allowed it to come into his body. Rain himself is a trained assassin/killer tainting the Fire even further, which is the cause of it becoming the red hot fire demon that is portrayed. The way one feels when you experience the pain of others is refected in the apperance of the Fire. So the storyline is Rain trying to purify himself of the embodiment of Purification. I hope this has helped and I hope that the people working to make this story now have a better view of the storyline...
--------------------------------
Inside, Rain watched in silent horror as ‘he’ came upon the land. Setting down, everything around him was engulfed in flame. He stepped forward and shot forth the fire from his hatred. Men who were running combusted and fell upon the ground screaming in pain and torture. Soon their pain was over as they died, their bodies smoldering from the flames.
The one who had shot the arrow was still fleeing, and was too far from ‘Rain’ for him to kill her. So he shot forward, his light ever burning the things it touched. He sped even faster, but stopped as she reached a wooded area. He looked with hatred upon the trees, there fifty feet tall trunks that had lasted for centuries,
“You too, shall perish!” Walking between two of the massive trees, fire began to swirl from the ground up. Fires charred every branch and killed every organism that dwelt upon the tree. The fires lept from tree to tree, and soon, the forest could be seen from the sea. The flames reflected in the white eyes of Rain, and his teeth gleaned in the heat. He loved it, watching the purification of these ancient beings...
“You cannot outlive me! Nothing can, I am the one true purifier! I am the Fire!” Rain listened as the thing named itself. He wanted to be known as Fire.. Fire, nothing but ingulfing destruction that feed off the living. Fire, the thing that burned within Rain’s heart...Hatred...Another symbol of fire, anger and hatred, feelings of malice and all negative things are symbolized by fire...But is purification truly to be symbolized by fire? Suddenly, all rain saw was the rush of water, Fire was flying over the water again, he saw flashes of rock...then, suddenly, Rain saw nothing....It’s over...

Kaehl looked around him, the forest was beginning to get bright behind him.
"Is that creature coming? Is that demon coming?" A companion of his looked at him in suprise.
"You don't actually believe that? Do you?" Suddenly, the fire surged forth into their view. Kaehl's eyes began to widen and he began to shoot forward. His speed increased as his adrenaline did.
"Run!"

Wow, you sure do like to...um...bump! Hah, did my summary help you out? Are you no longer confused? Good!
---------------------------------
Rain woke up in a small cave in a rock formation off the coast of the sea. He was himself again, but the rock around him was scortched black...He was glad to be back.
Walking out of the cave, he saw the streak of fire he had left when coming here, he would soon be found...He moved quickly and climbed over the rocks. He moved towards what he remembered was a forest, but all that remained was a charred black, worthlessnes.
"What have I done? No!" Rain fell to his knees, and began to sob for nothing at all...Because he felt no pain....
---------------------------
Kaehl pushed the rock off of his chest. He knew his rib was broken...He could feel it....He looked around him, the mud hill had solidified by now. But his trail was still in it. He could see where he had slipped and fallen and broken his rib...The forest was gone...He would kill that man...he had killed the forest....

wow, that's a pretty... abstract storyline you've there. :)
----

"He's still coming!" Lenai screamed, but she and Talia were stuck in the forest, there seemed to be no way to avoid the figure in fire. As their doom loomed closer, the man flew straight..... but over their heads. They could feel the heat scorching the forest around them, and they coughed. Looking back, they saw that the man had flown towards the nearby cave, heating vegetation and rock as he sailed by.

Trying to get the sting out of their eyes, the two ran out of the forest. The fire burnt relentlessly, and black smoke drifted into the sky. As quick as the fire was started, it died down magically. Talia combed her hair with her fingers and watched the scene warily.

"Looks like he's stopped doing... whatever he was doing before," Lenai said shakily.
"Let's take a look," Talia suggested, and ignoring Lenai's protest, she walked towards the cave, where Rain himself was climbing down from the rock above.
----

Kalim watched in astonishment as the boat rowed itself towards the shore. "What the?" he muttered. It was too much for a day, first he tried to rescue people from a sinking ship, then his own ship got destroyed in the process by a man casting fireball (some people thought it was a demon), now an invisible force had taken his boat. Shaking his head in resignation, he went to supervise the boarding. It didn't look like he could repair this ship, but maybe they could save some stuff before getting onto the shore. He wondered where Talia was.
