• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've seen carico's arguments, they only look like they'd convince people in my church, but what's the deal with dad and sack?

Dad dreamed up some merged universe where he gets to change all natural laws as he sees fit, his absurditites are astounding.

Sack had a tendency not to listen to replies, and to post the same thing over and over after it's already been refuted.

yes, they do. because the big bang suggests that the universe is millions of years old, and thus fits into the "evolutionary time frame" needed for animals to evolve. Its simply not true.

The Big Bang theory suggests nothing of the kind. It could have occurred 4.6 billion years ago, seven hundred trillion years ago, or a thousand years ago. Other evidence points to a 4.6-billion-year-old Universe, and other theories demand it. Intrinsically, the Big Bang makes no claim on the Universe's age.

explain further??

You said something about every human being different, therefore someone must be individually designing each human. Think about snowflakes for a moment.

its uncertain enough that some books have a sticker on them saying "EVOLUTION IS JUST A THEORY". plus, if it werent so certain it wouldnt be up for discussion in kansas now would it??

Okay, someone please post the Theories, Laws and Hypotheses Essay. I'm sure someone here has it on his/her hard drive.

if some have been shown to be fake, like piltdown, why believe anything else they say? they were willing to lie the first time, why not a second time?

The scientific community as a whole did not manufacture these hoaxes. Individuals did. No scientist has claimed Piltdown as a viable evidence since it was discovered to be a forgery, and there's plenty of other valid evidence anyway. Science is a quest, not a conspiracy.

Beats me, I wont judge the man personally. Thats up to god

I always enjoy these kinds of posts. "Well, God's gonna punish them, so I don't care." What a great rebuttal tactic.

I can't believe I'm bothering.

throughout history, there have been numerous attempts to bring down christianity. Those involved have used many different tactics as ways to take people away from Jesus.
Good ol "christian are persecuted" argument. In the words of Jon Stewart, "You've pretty much been in charge since, oh, Constantine, I'm just saying, enjoy your success."

You're assuming the bible is literally true. I take it that you're one of the creationists that don't care about evidence because any evidence that contradicts the bible must be wrong. Such a blatant bias means there's no point in debating since you cannot change your mind.

Sources?

what I witness here, proves my point. often the most intellectual creationists here (carico, dad, sacklunch) are often mocked by the evolutions. rather than give example to their own theory, they spend time mocking Jesus and christianity.
This is nothing short of a lie. Those creationists are mocked because they don't even have a basic understanding of any of the laws of science and still claim to know more than scientists. Isn't pride a sin? Evolutionists on this board don't put forth "their own" theory, unlike creationists they have one, single coherent theory and don't feel the need to make it up and change it depending on the topic of discussion.

Carico:

""Natural selection"?" That is again a term made up by evolutionists to try to explain things they don't understand."

Carico, Christian Forums

Dad:

"Sorry if I'm not up on the loonie tune theories. I don't believe in any gaps, just 6000 years. And a known spirit world, that has known effects on the physical!"

dad, Christian Forums

"water on mars proof of the flood

Here we see water on mars! When the waters of the flood were dryed with a great wind, it seems some ended up pon mars! Not millions of years ago, thousands!"

dad, Christian Forums

Sacklunch: looks like I dont have any Sacklunch posts in the database, but there hardly much better than the above.

The sword was one of the preferred methods.

The truth that Christianity has been THE power in the western world for over 1000 years is never complicated, its always a smack in your face and impossible to ignore, so KNOCK IT OFF with the "poor us" persecution complex

So when I heard of evolution in school and college, it always kept me dumbfounded on how someone could support such a uncertain scientific theory.
Uncertain?
It has more evidence backing it up than the theories of gravity.
Oh wait, dont tell me...you probably dont accept gravity either, do you?
AngryNotice said:
Seemingly intelligent men and women supporting flat-out lies,
Havent you heard? It's rude to speak of creationists that way.
Shame on you!
AngryNotice said:
or not presenting the other side of the evolution.
What OTHER SIDE of evolution?
Ah, wait, I get it....you're presenting the false dichotomy argument
Stop it or you dont get a cookie
AngryNotice said:
That other side would be creationism. Creationism has more logic behind it than evolution,
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAv (gasp...wheeze) HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
AngryNotice said:
and i will give my reasoning below..
Alright, sure, let's see your reasoning...

AngryNotice said:
first of all, in order to believe in evolution, that means that it had to of elasped over millions and millions of years. however, by dating certain events of the bible, one can discover that the earth cannot be more than 6,000 years old!
This argument will only convince a jew or christian.
People who dont believe in the bible most likely wont believe that the earth is supposedly 6000 years old

Heck, many many many many people who DO believe in the innerant bible, and are Creationists themselves, dont believe in a 6000 year old earth

But of course, you're just proposing YOUR PERSONAL interpretation of the bible, which means jack-nothing to us.

AngryNotice said:
so evolution either happened over 6000 years(sicentists say no) or it DIDNT HAPPEN AT ALL!!
Again, your assertion that your PERSONAL INTERPRETATION of scripture means nothing at all
Have fun, though, believing that it means something
AngryNotice said:
to suggest that evolution only deals with life on earth, is wrong. because it also makes references to other forums of science. including the big bang.
Evolution does not matter to the big bang theory, just as it doesnt matter to the theories of gravity.
It DOES matter, however, to the foundation of all modern biology. You can thank evolutionary theory for many advances in the medical field.
What has creationism contributed?
Oh, right...
Ahem.....fakes happen, both in scientific pursuit and in religion
There was an inscribed stone that supposedly confirmed the evidence of solomon's temple.
Fake
There was an ossuary that supposedly held the bones of "James, brother of Jesus"
Fake.
What does this kind of message tell us about Christians? are those christians so desperate to find evidence FOR their bible that they literally make it up?

AngryNotice said:
It seems that evolution is the conclusion that scientists make, and now they search desperately for the evidence! how laughable!!
Desperately?
You obviously dont know ANYTHING about evolutionary theory when you make statements like this
Even AiG says that the evidence is there.
AngryNotice said:
you can look at any two animals on earth, and notice that they are almost identical. however no two people on earth are alike, we look vastly different from each other! humans HAD to of been designed by a higher power.
That's just like a caucasian saying that "all orientals look alike", and such a statement is pathetic at best.
The animals "look alike" only to people like you
The animals have NO trouble telling each other apart by using their senses.

AngryNotice said:
what I witness here, proves my point. often the most intellectual creationists here (carico, dad, sacklunch) are often mocked by the evolutions.
You're new here arent you?
They are generally "mocked" (if you wish to use that term) due to the fact that we have witnessed them post PRATT after PRATT, and spout pure absolute nonsense (in the case of dad).
AngryNotice said:
rather than give example to their own theory
Our examples have been given time and again, but we get tired of telling the same people (like dad, carico and sacky) the same thing TIME AND AGAIN
AngryNotice said:
they spend time mocking Jesus and christianity
Quotes please
And not just one or two quotes. I want at least several dozen, as your accusation is all inclusive.
Of course, you cant provide such, so I wont hold my breath
AngryNotice said:
this kind of nonsense however, is not new, it's been done in the past, and will continue to happen in the future.
You mean like the nonsense you're trying to pull?
I have yet to see you post ONE piece of empirical evidence that supports Creationism.
Better yet, since you seem SO SURE of your statements, why dont you produce the obviously massive proponderance of empirical evidence that supports YEC creationism.
Of course, you cant provide such, so I wont bother hold my breath.
AngryNotice said:
the only thing I can say is, with time we will continue to find flaws with evolutionism, and eventually it will become a thing of the past.

AngryNotice said:
like when scientists said the earth was flat, or said we would never walk on the moon.. we owe or Lord thanks.
Mind your words AngryNotice
It was NOT "creation science" that sent us to the moon, neither was it "Creation science" that empirically demonstrated the spherical shape of the earth.
