The Evolution of Eminem

when I was in college, we had a speaker one day who told us she’s been praying for Eminem saying he’s such an influential rapper and how he could change hearts for God and she believed with all her heart that God will save him. That was back around 2004/2005 I think. Fast forward to some of his music from his current album or 2. To me, it almost sounds like he’s now searching for an answer. Searching for reason

I had been listening to his one song beautiful and thinking wow what a great message.

Now, I know he has a lot of hurt in his life and he can relate to a lot of people but his earlier songs were more of a joke and as he matured, his songs have a somewhat better meaning and message. Try listening and comparing.

I’ve only listened to 2 songs off his latest album. Both good but the 1 has a good message.

What do you think about his current music and the messages he’s portraying in them?

I've never disliked him but I've never been all that drawn to his music, being more into country music. My gym plays him sometimes, I find some of his songs to be pretty good. He's got the guts to address politically controversial issues without apology. It's clear he puts his passion into his music.

Ever watch the movie 8 Mile? I think his earlier songs reflect where he came from the effects of it on him came through in his lyrics. But then again, what do I know, as I understand it, many artists create a fictional persona, a bigger than life persona basically for the ends of selling records. I could be wrong, but think Eminem had less persona and more related to his genuine feelings (probably embellished) at the time.

I've never watched it but will have to see if it's on Netflix or something. Lately my gym has been playing a lost of his music, current stuff & from back then. It's definitely good stuff for when you're working out. Motivating.
