Yes I was listening to that also - I prefer it to for instance to Love is A Stranger. Any thing you want to say about it the video or lyrics - it was this video I wasn't sure I understood it - I tend to think this is a song about wanting to make an emotional connection with someone - but there is a kind of gulf between them? Almost seems like a figure from literature - Annie's searching figure.

I'm trying to figure out if he's supposed to be journaling Annie's contemplations as see moves about in wonder, or if he's representing a voyeur. I almost think the later, as the later would imply a relational disconnect: Anni's character in the video is searching and longing for a relationship, while Dave's character seems to want to view her at a distance, even doing so solely on his terms, all of which seem intentionally engineered to avoid her directly.

It could be symbolic; it could also be a social statement about the times.
