This is the one and only EU free thread on this forum. Post whatever you like, but electric universe and plasma cosmology are banned.

No names mentioned, of course.

Well, that doesn't seem like much of a limitation actually.

Shall we talk about that rather spectacular string of recent lab failures of CDM theory?

I heard somewhere that nothing of mass can be accelerated to the speed of light because it would take infinite energy.
Actually the way it works is that the spaceship remains stationary but the space enveloping it moves. It compresses space in front and decompresses it in the rear. It is like riding a wave where in relation to the wave you are stationary but the wave moves.

This warp drive in theory can exceed the speed of light.

Wouldn't that require like, unimaginably huge amounts of energy?

Indeed it would but they are working on it. Last I heard was that they theoretically halved the required energy.

Since we now seem to be able to create antimatter protons, the concept of a matter/antimatter power source isn't beyond our technical reach. Talk about dangerous stuff however. I'd insist they refill all Starships on the *backside* of the moon.

You can never exceed the speed of light for one simple reason. As you accelerate the atoms in your clock gain energy and they oscillate at a different rate, so no matter how fast you are actually going, light will always appear to move at the speed of c. Even if you are in reality exceeding that speed to an outside observer.

Not exactly as with a warp drive you are essentially remaining stationary and the space around you is moving.

Which, since the only thing we have ever observed is objects moving through space, is as likely as space expanding. Zero. Just because people can imagine something does not make it a physical possibility.

How does one move nothing????
