  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Sounds like the year my hubby made a menorah (used parafin and made HUGE wicks) and I had to paint the ceilings. Who knew parafin makes such a mess when you have a torches in your house!
HEHEHE ^_^ thanks for the warning Debi:eek: (we were thinking of that idea too)

Boy, you guys had lots of fun whist I was a cleaning away! Talking about the Menorah, this past hanukkah I found this wonderful heavey metal candlesticks that looked like branches, some double and some single. I purchased 4 of the double and one single and then some of those round ball candles to put on top. I liked the candlesticks because they looked like branches, and had leaves off them, but very elegant, made in an antique finish. So I thought I would make my own menorah/hanukiah with them. I set them on top of a highboy buffet and they looked great, you could see them from the living room and they made a very great statement. I had many dinner parties that week and waited thought to light this on the last night.

It was beautiful, the light reflecting off the wall, the silloette of the branches against the lit background.

I didn't even notice, but I did recall smelling, something faintly burning. It wasn't until later that night I looked up at my husbands beckoning and saw that there was a hugh black spot above the middle candle. It was actually burning the plaster ceiling. we quickley blew out the candle and applied wet cold compresses to the very hot spot, which was right below my spare bedroom.

I will have to look for another place to lit these next hanukkah! :)
