(Hey, first post, glad to be part of the community) I'm going to for now ignore the stone sculpture (as it has been discussed in depth already and not much else can be said). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It should be painfully obvious to anyone discussing this sincerely that dinosaurs and man did not coexist. Dinosaurs, birds aside, went extinct roughly 65 million years ago. Humans, in any shape even resembling an ape or even monkey, came *much* later as shown in the fossil record. Dinosaurs aren't a problem for Christians but are a problem for any young earth hypothesis (Christian or not). Trying to explain it with floods, or any sort of recent disaster is an indicator that the poster is unfamiliar with geological processes and the Earth's history in general or is simply not being sincere. Anyone who sincerely wants to understand the process of dating should look up radiometric dating techniques; through cross comparison and the simple assumption of uniformitarianism (processes today function as they have in the past) it can be shown that the Earth is much older than a few thousand years. Layers of strata were laid at a relatively constant rate and can be dated and compared using common indicators. This is much like tree ring dating (dendrochronology). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As far as the creation of the Mid Atlantic Ridge: look more into hotspots, Like Hawaii or Iceland, and their role in the fracturing of the continental plate.
