See, it's much simpler from where I stand. I know that the earth wasn't created in six days, the same way I know the sky isn't green and Budweiser isn't really beer.

So the possibilities are:

1) The Bible is wrong
2) The Bible is not literal.

YECs seem determined to prove that the Bible does teach that the earth was created in six literal days, thereby forcing conclusion 1).

I am a YEC, If I have to choose a badge. But I am in no way trying to force anyone to belive that the Bible does teach that the earth was created in six literal days, I am here to do exactly what you TE's claim to be doing defending what I belive, if you choose to belive in TE I dont care and dont think god does, or at least I hope he doesnt. Also I would prefer that my children werent taught TE. But if that was the only way In which they could accept the bible as the word of god then so be it. I belive it is the belief in the death and ressurection that is a testament to our faith, not the creation( this is not all I believe but all I feel relevant to this issue) God bless.:prayer:

But unless your children actually know that there are different beliefs among Christians, and do not have that well poisoned against them, they will not have a real choice. Then they head off to the real world, hear the real evidence about the age of the earth and evolution and are in the middle of a crisis of faith. This tragically happens all the time, and we have had numerous testimonies about this on these forums.

What do you do with the verse in Genesis which has God saying "let the land bring forth living creatures?" The land is the subject of the phrase and living creatures is the object, that which is brought forth by the land. What do you do with that if not see evolution in it?

1denom, part of the isse that has been around here for some time is not that (for almost all of us TE's) we object to your holding your belief, so it is not necessary for you to defend your belief. The problem we TE's have is that our belief is belittled and our faith is called into question repeatedly. We are defending our belief because it is being equated with having less faith, or putting faith in men instead of God, or answering to something other than God, or ...
