So an atheist who raises his children away from religion and dooms their souls fr all eternity would be moral only if their intention was good, yes?Fine, I'll take the bait then. But watch for follow-ups to try to discredit me since that's what always happens. It's not about actually learning--it's all about the argument.....
If a person rapes someone to produce a child to raise as altruistic, I would say that the person was doing it for a moral reason, but without considering the collateral damage. In short, the motivation was moral if it was the true motivation.

Well, I'm interested in what you have to say.Fine, I'll take the bait then. But watch for follow-ups to try to discredit me since that's what always happens. It's not about actually learning--it's all about the argument.....

What good is reducing ethics to mere intentionality when consequences are the fruits that we all end up caring about? Otherwise why bother arguing and challenging each other when we try to pass laws and policies? After all, if most people's intentions are noble, what need do we have to worry?
Okay, now I kinda see what you mean.NameLessHero: See what I mean?
Poolerboy: Morality is a set of rules determined by man. He can decide for himself what is "moral", but moral doesn't always mean Godly. If your own morals are all that matters, then go ahead and do whatever your mind can justify as being moral. But consequences follow on earth if your morality doesn't match society's morality, and consequences follow in Heaven if your morality doesn't match God's, whether or not you believe in Him.

Since you can't show that God exists, but we have ample evidence that human society exists, I think I will stick to meeting society's morality. Also, the jealousy of other deities would cause me to violate their rules if I worshipped your God, so that puts me in a catch 22 to begin with. Damned if I do, damned if I don't, literally.
Meh, not every theistic religion has deities that get butthurt over worship to that extent

Well, you're on a Christian forum, so I guess you decided which one is most likely to exist. Wouldn't be worth talking about otherwise, right?
-_- this forum is open to people of all religions

I could lump you with all other theists, if you like. Can you explain the morality of why theists like yourself require women to wear a burqa?
Yes, but Christianity is the main one it's about. I think the name says it pretty clearly.
Again, it's a Christian forum. Not many Christians require women to wear a burqa.
You are a theist. Why single out christianity?
You are a human. Why shouldn't you be in solitary confinement in a prison like so many others?
Because I haven't broken the law. Is this a tough one for you to understand?
If you complain that atheists are singling out christians, then I am more than happy to lump you into a general pool of theists.
You are a human. Why shouldn't you be in solitary confinement in a prison like so many others?
The majority of people aren't in solitary confinement, you have to be exceptionally TERRIBLE to get there. Are you seriously comparing Christianity to solitary confinement?
