  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi there,

Not sure how you let the cards fall with respect to this: the Devil says he's "sorry", believe?

What are your conditions?

Thanks.:holy:

In a purely literary sense (eschewing any and all biblical context), I'd say the the devil is a much more sympathetic character, and thus, if decided by me, would be MUCH more likely to gain any sort of pardon.

Take God's actions, both of the Old Testament and the New, and transfer them to an individual that has no claims of divine authority. Would he/she be exempt from condemnation?

I would say to him, "okay. I will choose to believe you. I won't seek to hurt you or be angry with you or hate you... But you have to understand you're a dangerous " person" and I can't really hang out with you or leave you alone with my kids until you prove yourself with time and actions. I hope that doesn't hurt your feelings. "

Sure I'd accept.

I mean what would he do anyway to me? If I said no, he does nothing. If I said yes, he does nothing.

So it's really a win/win.

I wouldn't say he does nothing, the Devil will steal, kill and destroy in the nicest possible way, if its in his interest.

Like when? Yahweh did most of that Ten fold in Genesis. And he wasn't nice about it.
