CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

never thot I'd see the day I'd trade CHOCLATE CAKE but my mother has come up with bananna cake with real 'orange' icing

Thot I'd drop in and leave the recipe on this thread for those who wish to try the orange icing. It goes with 'pineapple', etc. i've already placed my order with mum for my birthday on the 14th. and for my anniversary on the 17th and for our daughters birthday on the 25th
BANANNA CAKE
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening or butter
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3 small really ripe banannas or two large ones
1 teaspoon soda dissolved in 1/2 cup sour milk
2 cups flour (sifted)
2 teaspoons baking powder (mix in the flour)
Mum usually doubles this recipe which will make a 9x13 cake and make the remainder into cupcakes.
Mix thoroughly, creaming butter and sugar, adding eggs, dry ingredients, soda and sour milk, banannas and vanilla. Pour into greased pan (8x8 or 9x9). Bake at 350 degrees farenheit for 30 minutes or until done.
ORANGE ICING (This is what MAKES the whole thing so delicious!!)
1 8 oz. package cream cheese (softened)
1/4 lb. margarine or butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups icing sugar
Add orange rind to suit your taste for flavour
cream above two together. Add icing suguar and vanilla and orange rind. If too stiff, add a tiny bit of milk.
ENJOY
