  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello everyone. Well, I am not part of the Democratic Party per say. I lean more toward the Green Party in politics, so I definitely not a conservative. I am liberal in politics. I could never bring myself to have the same political platform as Republicans. I did not see a thread for the Green Party, so I thought I would step in here and say hello.
Sames. I might vote Democratic if Bernie gets the nom.

Sounds good to me.

I am liberal in politics. I could never hold to the same political platform as Republicans. I did not see a thread for the Green Party, so I thought I would step in here and say hello.

Yeah, we just have the Democratic Safehouse for left-wingers of all stripes, and all such stripes are welcome here. The reason there's a "social conservative" and "Republican" safe house is due to the attitudes posters have displayed towards Republicans are are not as conservative as they are..

I was wondering why there were three different threads for conservative concepts. Yes I know that there are both right and left forms of libertarianism, but in this country Libertarian is more of a rightest philosophy.

Just to clear it up, the Safe Houses aren't really official CF threads. We've stickied them and monitor them. But members started the original ones, and once they gained traction, they were made "official" in the fact that we made rules for them (not a safe place to flame the opposition).

So if someone wants to start a safe house for a group not listed, go ahead and do so. We can stick it for you.

The conservatives wanted to be more exclusive, but the "Democrats" are fine with being inclusive (for the most part - no contentious conservatives unless they are actual Democrats - there's one fairly conservative Democrat that I know of who sometimes posts here).

I'm also not an actual Democrat - registered Liberal but that line is no longer registered in my state so now Independent.

Psalms hasn't posted here in a long while. Don't know if it was the forum change, but I also hope it wasn't something that was said to him. Like you said, it's good to be inclusive.

To my fellow liberal/progressive/democratic posters:

Today, I read for maybe the 10,000th time an assertion that supporters of Bernie Sanders are unrealistic, that Bernie Sanders supporters will all be disappointed if they elect him because he won't be able to bring the change he's promising, that Bernie Sanders's policies will be "just another example of Democrats making promises they can't keep," and so on and so forth. [...]

Allow me to let you in on a little secret: I, like presumably most Americans who support Bernie Sanders, do not expect miracles.

What I do expect, by electing Bernie Sanders, is to have an honest president whom Americans can trust at all times to be completely sincere, and who will work as hard as he can to represent the interests of the American people. [...]

But if Bernie Sanders is elected president, then maybe, just maybe, things will change. And that's worth a vote. That's worth trying. [...]

And if Bernie Sanders is elected president and this whole "political revolution" thing we all keep talking about actually does happen, then think of the possibilities. We are at a point in our history when we, as citizens this country, can legitimately make the United States of America the indisputable greatest country on earth. We have the rare opportunity to lead the world by example in showing what a government can do when it isn't corrupt and solely focused on making a handful of individuals disproportionately wealthy.

THAT is what I'm voting for. [...]

Electing Bernie Sanders is pushing a snowball off the top of a mountain and seeing how far it will roll.

I Support Bernie Sanders, And I'm Not Stupid or Unrealistic

The most egregious insult is that Bernie Sanders supporters "think that he will make everything free."

No. I think Lord [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] is an idiotic blowhard who can't handle criticism and that Ted Cruz is a theocrat.

The idea "you should vote for someone who can get things done, even though they aren't the things that need doing, instead of someone who _might_ not be able to get things done, even though they are the things that need doing..." That's nonsense. Bernie Sanders is a candidate I actually think is honest and sincere... _and_ I agree with a goodly portion of his platform!
