There is one day in the whole history of the world that changed every thing that has ever happened during and after it. It was one day that created an brand new breed of people who would nearly conquer the world. it is day that is more than any other day for anyone and we hardly notice its passing.
The day? Good Friday. On this day our lord and savior Jesus died for us. He was put upon the cross after he was beaten and handed over. He died. Without this day there would be no Christianity. There would be nothing more than the story of a miracle worker who once lived. This is the day that defines exactly who we are and we hardly notice it.
The day is both a sad and joyous day for us. He died after suffering for us. But he died for us. We should celebrate this day. We should Yell from the highest mountain that this is the day that is greatest above all others. This is the day our Lord gave us forgiveness.
Easter, is very important to. His rebirth and the bestowment of the holy spirit, but that is not what we do. When we point to Jesus he is not ascending into heaven he is one a wooden cross. Bleeding and broken physically, dead, having died for us.
Without this one day we would not be as we are. This is the day that is the very definition of us and it passes by us each year in near silence. Forgotten under the egg laying bunnies and glazed hams. The resurrection of our Lord is a truly joyous moment but the day of most importance is waysided and but ink on the calender.
