  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

When did you receive Jesus Christ as your God? Or, when did you decide to live for Jesus Christ? How about day you walked away from your sins?

I became a Kingdom Follower when I was 12 years old in youth group. It was salvation week and we had a salvation message in youth group and my youth pastor said if anyone wanted to become a Christian to repeat a prayer similar, and I did! I was found by Jesus, I came to the cross, I followed Jesus, I decided to live for Jesus.

I have always failed to understand why it is so important to some that such dates are remembered. As if there is some "seniority" or "time in service" clause to Salvation. It's good that your now Following God, but to keep tabs on the date is a violation of a Godly precept.

Matthew 20:1-16
It matters not how long you have been a christian.

I've known some that after a year have grown in much maturity and wisdom, and I've also known some that after 25 years are still babies and just don't get it.

Me too. I was also 12. My mother re-married a Christian man so we started going to church on a regular basis. God kinda became part of my life, so I don't have a specific eye opening moment except for maybe the day I was water baptized. I was about 14 at that time.

I think it's fun for alot of people to think of this date sorta like a second birthday. I read Matt 20:1-16 to say that it doesn't matter how long you've been a Christian when it comes to our reward at the end. There are references in Timothy that indicate that those who are young in their walk should not be pastors or elders. So I would say that the lenght of time we've been walking the Christian walk does make some difference is certain matters.

The only reason why I asked was to have a thread where we are thanking Jesus for us being found by Jesus. I was just trying to have a great fellowship thread, not a debate thread.

I was 16. Followed a girlfriend to church, since her father (the preacher) wouldn't let me see her unless I went to church. Jesus called me and I answered one night while I was there flirting. That preacher man aggrivated me at first but ended up saving my soul. Thank you Preacher Man.
