The Dark Side of Love
When we think of Love, we think of the Sweet and Tender and Wonderful love that is light. There is nothing dark to it. Real love is always expressed for the good of the one loved. At least that is the way
it is in real love.
But there is far more to love than this. Love also has a dark side. Most often I think, when parents
"correct" their children it is done out of anger and when a parent has "reached their limit". But when
a child is Properly corrected, it is done in Love.
One Bible Scholar used the example of a parent taking a child to the hospital and delivering him into the hands of a surgeon, who endangers his life by taking a scalpel and pressing it to his vitals.
That act, however, is just as much love as the candy and presents the parent then brings to the bedside of the child.
So true and real love always has a light and dark side. The light side is like Heaven to us, while the dark side is more like hell.
But the thing that determines if love is Real and True, is the way in which it is expressed. Real love is always expressed for the good of the one who is loved, and not the other way around.
That is why Christian love is the sweetest of all love, because that love is selfless and always has "
"OTHERS" as it's only theme.
"Other's, Lord yes Other's; Let this my motto be. Help me to live for Other's, that I might live like Thee"
Father thank You for the ultimate demonstration of love: The gift of Jesus. His very life was an expression of love for us, yet the dark side of that love took Him to the cross to die the most agonizing death ever died. Help us to see that it was an expression of love for the good of those that are loved-
US! O Father, help us to understand the Real meaning of Love. Help us to love one another as Jesus commanded us, and help us to love You more each day, for it is in the Name of Love itself, the
Sweet Name of Jesus that I pray. Amen
