Faith works by love. Without love faith is just non-profitable, like a clanging cymbal, nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
And without love faith doesn't work. Galatians 5:6

When we understand how God loves us, faith in Him comes. And then we will see things happen beyond all we can imagine. Ephesians 3:19-20

My paraphrase of this verse.
Be still and know He is God and see God be glorified.

He works when we stop working and get out of His way.

Not the same peace as

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusts in Thee. Isaiah 26:3

Not the same as, but close

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, Colossians 3:15
The word for "rule" is G1018 which means to arbitrate.

The first type of peace found in Romans 5:1 is peace with God. God isn't mad at us anymore because we are in Christ.
The second type of peace we have because we stay focused on Him. Same peace found in Philippians 4:6-7.

The third type of peace is the 2nd type of peace in action. When we make a decision, or about to and if we don't feel at peace with it, we shouldn't do it.
If we do feel at peace with a decision, don't let anything stop you from implementing it because it is what God wants you to do.

We only have this third type of peace if we have the 2nd type. And we can only have the 2nd type if we have the first type of peace.

This verse tells us we should be thankful.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Here we see that it is God's will that we give thanks.
Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD for His mercies endure forever. Psalms 106:1
Here we see why we give thanks, because God is so merciful to us.
