Not that I'm defending Trudeau's blatherings... he is after all the quintessential politician and can speak much but not say anything.

A friend's grandparents mentioned that his grandfather, decades ago, used what is now called a racial slur now to describe which neighbors. At the time, that was just the words used; he thought highly of them.

I don't see any point in holding him accountable.

However, now, socially acceptable has a tendency to blend and morph into what a crime is. And, to the point of this story, accusations have as much (if not more) weight than the truth... except it seems to depend on who the person being accused is.

Just curious to see how much of a fate Trudeau faces vs others accused.

I am shocked too. Also if this is one case coming up, then it will be others as well.

And Trudeau is seen as more favorable, and they wouldn't believe he would do something like this.

Pretty sure what he did was considered sexual harassment/assault back when he did it. We aren't talking about some kind of wildly changing standards here.
