  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Obviously the people involved in beating and torturing Jesus and then crucifying Him were great, murderous sinners.

My question is though, because Christ's death was part of the Lord's Holy plan of Salvation, will those who participated in the event be somehow seen as "just" in their actions on Judgment Day, or will God simply treat them as He would any horrible sinner?
Also, was the Crucifixation actually a sin, and could it considered the "greatest" sin committed by mankind aside from blaspheming the Holy Spirit?

The "just" do not need forgiveness, right? Notice what Jesus had to say about them from the Cross (see below). Some could have become Christians after the fact, of course ... see Matt 27:54 ... so treating them like a "horrible sinner" on Judgment Day is not a given either.

Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them;
for they do not know what they are doing.”
Luke 23:34
