I think three things are obvious here:

- Ms. Gibson needed to defuse the justifiable public outrage at the bishop's comments by rewriting, rephrasing, and reimaging them.

- Bishop Jenke was quietly censured and muzzled due to pending investigations and suits.

- Bishop Jenke will be more circumspect in the future (and may even be submitting his homilies to Cardinal George for approval until the election is over).

Careful, history tells us that you are dissing the Dems--your political party of choice.

The brand name may be the same, but the ideology has switched big-time. Today's Tea-Party Republicans would be among the "states rights" crowd and the Democratic Party as it was them.
