Here is the correct perspective of the first three Chapters of the book of Genesis.
Genesis 1-3

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that is in them, but on the seventh day He rested. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.
You alone are the LORD. You created the heavens, the highest heavens with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to all things, and the host of heaven worships You.
When I behold Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have set in place—

Genesis 1:2, 3
2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

Day 1
  • The heavens and earth and the sea, have been created.
  • Light appears on he surface of the waters.
  • The source of the light is not mentioned at this point.

**********************************************************************************

Genesis 1:6-8
6 And God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters, to separate the waters from the waters.”
7 So God made the expanse and separated the waters beneath it from the waters above. And it was so.
8 God called the expanse “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.

Day 2
Heaven, with earth's atmosphere is created. There are waters above - Atmospheric Water Vapor.

Water vapor is Earth’s most abundant greenhouse gas. It’s responsible for about half of Earth’s greenhouse effect — the process that occurs when gases in Earth’s atmosphere trap the Sun’s heat. Greenhouse gases keep our planet livable. Without them, Earth’s surface temperature would be about 59 degrees Fahrenheit (33 degrees Celsius) colder. Water vapor is also a key part of Earth’s water cycle: the path that all water follows as it moves around Earth’s atmosphere, land, and ocean as liquid water, solid ice, and gaseous water vapor.

Earth’s atmosphere is a thin veil of gas surrounding the planet. Although it only extends a few hundred kilometers above the surface, it contains a mixture of gases, such as oxygen and nitrogen, that are critical for life to exist. It distributes incoming solar radiation, protecting life from harmful ultraviolet radiation but also driving atmospheric circulation and weather.

**********************************************************************************

Genesis 1:9-13
9 And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.
11 Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.

Day 3
Land appears above the water's surface, and God calls the unified body of waters seas. The dry land, he calls, earth.
The land produces grass, seed-bearing plants and trees producing fruit and seed, according to their kind, which God has created
.

**********************************************************************************

Genesis 1:14-19
14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to distinguish between the day and the night, and let them be signs to mark the seasons and days and years.
15 And let them serve as lights in the expanse of the sky to shine upon the earth.” And it was so.
16 God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night. And He made the stars as well.
17 God set these lights in the expanse of the sky to shine upon the earth, 18 to preside over the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
19 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.

Day 4
The heavens are already created with the sun, moon, and stars on Day 1, so God is not now creating them, but rather, these bodies appear in the expanse.
This is supported by two evidences.
  1. Verses 7, 14, 16, 17, 25, and 26 uses the word made, rather than create. Genesis 1:16 God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night. And He made the stars as well.
  2. In verse 3, the word used is light - as in diffused in nature, or light of day (or). in verse 14 the word used is luminary (maor), identifying the source of the light in verse 3
Thus, the lights are now visible in the expanse.

luminaries.png

**********************************************************************************

Genesis 1:20-23
20 And God said, “Let the waters teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the sky.”
21 So God created the great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters teemed according to their kinds, and every bird of flight after its kind. And God saw that it was good.
22 Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters of the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”

Day 5
Living creatures are created - both sea creatures and birds gifted with flight.

birds_fish.png

**********************************************************************************

Genesis 1:24, 25
24 And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, land crawlers, and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so.
25 God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that crawls upon the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:26-30
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.
31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.

Day 6
Living creatures are created.
Land animals - creeping, wild and domestic, are brought forth.

Mankind is created.

**********************************************************************************

Day 7
Genesis 2:1-3
1 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.
2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

Genesis 2:4
This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

Historical Account
Genesis 2:5, 6
During the early stages of Day 3, when the land appeared, the earth was being watered with a mist, since God had not yet caused it to rain. So the seed in the earth started to sprout, and the grass began to grow.

Genesis 2:7-9
On Day 6 ((by then there was vegetation on the earth, and all varieties of animals both on land and in the seas), God created Adam, and placed him in a garden he personally created, and planted every tree desirable to look at, and good for food... also the tree of life in the middle of the garden and the tree of the knowledge of good and bad.

Genesis 2:10-14
God - the very first landscaper and gardener - decorated the garden with rivers to water the garden. It was the first and most beautiful garden on record. Perfect.

Genesis 2:15-17
15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

Genesis 2:18-20
During Day 6, Adam is naming the animals, which God is creating during that same day, and bringing to Adam. Day 6 has not ended, and Eve has not yet been made.

Genesis 2:21-25
After many many years - Yes years, as Adam aged, and learned about his father, through his creation, and communication - during Day 6, Eve is created.
Adam is an experienced man. He named all the animals; learned their characteristics; tasted the various flavors of the fruit trees, and could tell Eve which fruit is the most delicious. He learned about the different bird's sounds, and how they build their nests. Spiders, ants, chickens, dogs... He learned them all. Most important, he learned more about God - his creator, the source of his life, and his loving provider, who gave him all he needed... including "bone of his bone, and flesh of his flesh" - a beautiful woman.

Did Adam show appreciation?
Genesis 3:1-24
Genesis 3:12 And the man answered, “The woman whom You gave me, she gave me fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”
No. He did not. He rebelled against his creator, and provider, siding with God's chief adversary Satan the Devil. 1 Timothy 2:14
And Adam was not deceived, but the woman, having been deceived, has come into transgression.

This evidently is the most accurate perspective of Revelation Chapters 1 to 3.

The heavens are already created with the sun, moon, and stars on Day 1,
What God created in the beginning was time itself. Along with entropy is a way to distinguish the past from the future. In that moment instant, energy, mass, and space came into existence, giving rise to everything we know—the entire known Universe1. This cosmic event marked the beginning of time as we understand it. Time began in a thousand, thousand, thousandth of a second. God created everything. The universe is expanding but we do not know what the universe is expanding into because we can only see the universe itself. There are multi universe theories. The product of the imagination.
It was the first and most beautiful garden on record. Perfect.
The cedar tree of Lebanon is more beautiful than any tree in Eden. Ezekiel 31 8
8The cedars in the garden of God could not rival it;

A tree is a eco system all onto itself that supports a lot of life, even humans. We could not live without the trees and the fruit they provide and the shelter they provide for us. Even clothing from their fiber.

And God called the dry land Earth
The Bible and Science seem to have a different definition for the word Earth. The letter we are looking at is VAV. We have the law of first use. The first use of the letter VAV is to connect Heaven and Earth. Jesus days "Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven". We go to verse two and we see the letter VAV again only this time it means the past and the future Earth. The past earth from verse one is no longer connected with Heaven and has become empty and void. Yes a day is a literal 24 hour day but this represents a much longer period of time.

Let’s explore the fascinating interplay between biblical interpretation and scientific understanding regarding the concept of “Earth” and the Hebrew letter Vav (ו).

  1. Biblical Perspective:
    • In the Bible, the term “Earth” holds rich symbolism. In Genesis 1:1, God creates the heavens and the Earth. The Hebrew word for “Earth” is אָ֫רֶץ (aretz), which signifies both physical land and the broader cosmic order.
    • The letter Vav (ו) appears early in Genesis. When God calls the dry land “Earth” (וְהָאָ֗רֶץ), the Vav serves as a connecting force. It links the earthly realm with the divine—a bridge between Heaven and Earth.
    • Jesus’ prayer, “Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven,” underscores this connection. It implies alignment between the earthly and heavenly realms.
  2. Scientific Exploration:
    • Science provides a different lens. It examines Earth as a planet—a physical sphere orbiting the Sun. Geological processes, evolution, and cosmology shape our understanding.
    • Verse 2 of Genesis introduces a shift. The Earth becomes “formless and empty” (tohu vavohu). The Vav now signifies a transition—the past Earth no longer connected to Heaven. It enters a state of chaos.
    • The “days” of creation are intriguing. While they can be literal 24-hour periods, they also symbolize epochs. Science reveals Earth’s ancient history—billions of years of gradual change.
  3. Harmony or Tension?
    • Some find harmony between biblical and scientific perspectives. They see God’s hand in both creation and natural processes.
    • Others perceive tension. How do we reconcile ancient texts with modern scientific discoveries? It’s an ongoing dialogue.
In summary, the Vav bridges spiritual and physical realms, inviting us to explore the profound mystery of Earth’s origins.

Revelation 17:1-18:24

maxresdefault.jpg

Revelation 17:1-6
1 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute, who sits by many waters. 2 With her the kings of the earth committed adultery, and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries.”

3 Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries. 5 The name written on her forehead was a mystery:

Babylon the Great
the mother of prostitutes
and of the abominations of the earth.
6 I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of God’s holy people, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus.

When I saw her, I was greatly astonished.

Revelation 17:15
Then the angel said to me, “The waters you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations and languages.

What we know so far, from Revelation 17:1-15...
She is in bed with the world's rulers.
She is gloriously decked in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls.
She pollutes herself with disgusting things to the point of intoxication, and does the same with the inhabitants of the earth.
She directs the actions of the political rulers, assuming a dominant role over them.
She is responsible to a high level of degree, for the death of the holy ones of God's people'
She has masses of people.

What entity on earth can be symbolized as adulterating with the political system?
God viewed his people as a wife. Isaiah 54:5; Ezekiel 16:8; Hosea 2:16
When they connected themselves with idols or protection from other nations, God called them an adulterer and prostitute. Isaiah 57:3; Jeremiah 3:8-10; Jeremiah 5:7

The answer: Religious.

Jesus said,
“Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s” (Mark 12:17)
"If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you." (John 15:19)

The harlot did mount the beast some time after the first century... but when?
When was Church-State alliance initiated?

Eusebius (c. 260–339), the bishop of Caesarea, was a historian and exegete who formed the Orthodox understanding of the relationship between church and state. He saw the empire and the imperial church as sharing a close bond with each other; in the centre of the Christian empire stood the figure of the Christian emperor rather than that of the spiritual head of the church.

What entity on earth can be symbolized as gloriously decked in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls?
Exodus 25:3, 4
3 These are the offerings you are to receive from them: gold, silver and bronze; 4 blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair;
The tabernacle / temple of God was beautifully adorned with purple and scarlet and glittering gold, precious stones. Exodus 26:1; Exodus 27:16-28:35; Exodus 35:4-9; The entire book of Exodus. :)
So were the priests. Exodus 28:4, 5

The answer: Religious.
So, we can say that the harlot - Babylon the Great represents religion that has deviated from God, and pollutes herself with disgusting things to the point of intoxication, and does the same with the inhabitants of the earth.
She directs the actions of the political rulers, assuming a dominant role over them, and is responsible to a high level of degree, for the death of the holy ones of God's people'
See also... Revelation 18:22, 23

Yes, adulterous religion has been drinking from the cup full of disgusting things for quite a long time in the history after the period of the first century.
It has also dictated the decisions of the political rulers.
The Christian emperor entered not only the political but also the sacred succession of the divinely appointed Roman emperor.

Religion which has deviated from Christ's teachings has misled many people, spiritually starving them and making them more susceptible to Satan and his world.
She coerces them by tickling their ear with adulterated, and watered down doctrines.

What about the blood of the holy ones?
Has adulterous religion drunk deep on human blood of people who loved God's word, and sought to teach it to others?

He was later Exhumed and burnt.

He was not the only one to be murdered by the religious entity. Inquisition

The table turns
Revelation 18:1, 2, 21-23
1 After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven. He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor. 2 With a mighty voice he shouted:
“‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great!’
She has become a dwelling for demons
and a haunt for every impure spirit,
a haunt for every unclean bird,
a haunt for every unclean and detestable animal.

21 Then a mighty angel picked up a boulder the size of a large millstone and threw it into the sea, and said:
“With such violence the great city of Babylon will be thrown down, never to be found again.
22 The music of harpists and musicians, pipers and trumpeters, will never be heard in you again.
No worker of any trade will ever be found in you again.
The sound of a millstone will never be heard in you again.
23 The light of a lamp will never shine in you again.
The voice of bridegroom and bride will never be heard in you again.
Your merchants were the world’s important people. By your magic spell all the nations were led astray.

Babylon the Great is losing her grip on the beast, as it prepares to throw her off.

separation-of-church-and-state-why.jpg

In Germany state-church traditions had been largely eliminated in 1918 with the establishment of the Weimar Republic; the abolition of the monarchical system of government also deprived the territorial churches of their supreme Protestant episcopal heads. The Weimar Constitution sanctioned the separation of church and state.

She is becoming barren, as her masses of water recede.

Empty Pews Are an American Public Health Crisis

The decline in confidence in churches has been accompanied by steep recent declines in both church membership and attendance. Barna Group found that 10 years ago, in 2011, 43 percent of Americans said they went to church every week. By February of 2020, that had dropped 14 percentage points to 29 percent.

But when Americans describe the reasons they seldom or never attend church, scandals don’t get top billing. Instead, people who think of themselves as Christians are more likely to say that they practice their faith in other ways (44 percent) or that there’s something they don’t like about the service (38 percent).

People are wise to heed the warning...

leavechurch.jpg

Why?
Revelation 18:4, 5
4 Then I heard another voice from heaven say:
“‘Come out of her, my people,’ so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues;
5 for her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes.

The political entity, adulterous religion once rode, and felt like a queen, loses her grip, and is thrown off, and completely destroyed.
Her end is fast approaching.

Revelation 17:16-18
16 The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute. They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire. 17 For God has put it into their hearts to accomplish his purpose by agreeing to hand over to the beast their royal authority, until God’s words are fulfilled. 18 The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth.”

Revelation 18:8
8 Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her: death, mourning and famine.
She will be consumed by fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her

committed adultery,
Spiritual unfaithfulness refers to actions or attitudes that undermine one’s relationship with God or deviate from the principles of faith. Here are some examples:

  1. Idolatry: Worshiping false gods, material possessions, or ideologies instead of the true God.
  2. Hypocrisy: Pretending to be devout while harboring insincere motives or living a contradictory lifestyle.
  3. Compromising Morality: Engaging in unethical behavior, dishonesty, or immorality.
  4. Lack of Devotion: Neglecting prayer, scripture study, and spiritual practices.
  5. Worldly Alliances: Aligning with ideologies or systems that oppose God’s teachings.
  6. Doubt and Disbelief: Questioning or rejecting core tenets of faith.
  7. Pride: Considering oneself above divine guidance or authority.
Ultimately, spiritual unfaithfulness leads away from a genuine connection with God and undermines the pursuit of righteousness.

The scriptures were not written for us to judge others. The Bible was written for us to judge ourselves.

The Bible and Science seem to have a different definition for the word Earth.
I think you meant to say the Bible and men who are called scientists of the 19th century, because science existed from the beginning, and God is the greatest scientist of all time.
Do you disagree?

God had the Bible written over a period of 1,600 years, and before men today knew anything about gravity, or any biogeochemical cycle, it was recorded what facts related to science, God wanted man to know.

When God created the earth, he created the water that covered it... even if that water was initially in the earth. The earth, however, was covered with water.
When land below the waters surfaced, God referred to it as earth.

That does not however, conflict with what 19th century scientists have discovered. They refer to the same dry land as earth.

240px-The_Blue_Marble_%28remastered%29.jpg

Earth is the third planet from the Sun and the only astronomical object known to harbor life. This is enabled by Earth being an ocean world, the only one in the Solar System sustaining liquid surface water. Almost all of Earth's water is contained in its global ocean, covering 70.8% of Earth's crust. The remaining 29.2% of Earth's crust is land, most of which is located in the form of continental landmasses within Earth's land hemisphere. Most of Earth's land is somewhat humid and covered by vegetation, while large sheets of ice at Earth's polar deserts retain more water than Earth's groundwater, lakes, rivers and atmospheric water combined. Earth's crust consists of slowly moving tectonic plates, which interact to produce mountain ranges, volcanoes, and earthquakes. Earth has a liquid outer core that generates a magnetosphere capable of deflecting most of the destructive solar winds and cosmic radiation.

Earth has a dynamic atmosphere, which sustains Earth's surface conditions and protects it from most meteoroids and UV-light at entry. It has a composition of primarily nitrogen and oxygen. Water vapor is widely present in the atmosphere, forming clouds that cover most of the planet.

Earth's land is still earth.
Earth's many layers are hidden from view.
The first layer to drill through is the crust, which is about 60 miles (100 km) thick, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Can you explain please, in simple terms, what this has to do with Genesis 1-3?

True, unfaithfulness could include all those things and more
8. Rejecting truth: Believing false doctrines, and lies 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12
9. Disobedience: Not doing the will of God 1 Timothy 2:3, 4; Matthew 7:21
10. Treachery: Interfaith with religiously divided Organization 2 Corinthians 6:14-18
11: Rejecting true knowledge: John 17:3; Romans 10:1-3; Ephesians 4:13
etc.

However, spiritual adultery, and prostitution is what Revelation is discussing. Unfaithfulness in it's broad sense, is a different subject.

Also, although I welcome hearing you Diamond, we more like to hear what God has to say, don't we.
So, if you can use scripture to tell us what is, I would greatly... greatly appreciate it.
Seeing the scriptures really does more than we may know... for everyone.

2 Timothy 3:16, 17
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Are you saying the scripture are not useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, etc.?
So, we should not use it to teach the truth to others, and reveal truth?

This is a different topic, and I don't want to derail the thread. It also has nothing to do with the posts I made, since these posts are not in anyway judging others... other than the scriptures do that.
This is more related to your last statement. What do you think about 2 Corinthians 10:4-6?

@Diamond7 I should have mentioned that it's good that you observed that Revelation 17-18, is describing spiritual prostitution.
So, right away you picked up that the harlot is a religious entity. Very good.
So, would you agree that this woman represents all religion that has deviated from God's truth?

We think in terms of letters. There are 22 letters in Hebrew but they are picture grafts. Each letter means something. So the pictures form an idea that we call words. It is important to understand the meaning of the letters to understand the meaning of the words in the Bible. We need to study the building blocks used to make those words.

The Hebrew alphabet, known as the Aleph-Bet, indeed carries profound significance. Each letter represents both a phonetic sound and a symbolic concept. Let’s delve into some of these foundational letters:

Thanks.
Sounds like you are a Biblical scholar.
Do you think there are many who are in this field of study, who understands the meaning of the words in the Bible, who lived before our lifetime, say... 4th - 18th century?

I study under the hasidic. Their tradition goes back to the 1800's but it is based on the kabbalah that goes back further. But many just go back 1,000 years. Some believe the oral tradition goes back to Adam and we do read about him in our Bible. I have been a christian for 40 years so I can figure it out. Actually in HIgh School I studied under Holocaust survivors. So I do have a foundation to work with.

During the tribulation period it is believed that these are the people who will be a witness and testimony for God. They follow the 613 laws because they are teachers but they do not expect others to follow them. People decide for themselves.

A lot of their teaching is aimed at young girls to find the right husband. They have maintained their purity all these years as the Bible calls them "virgins". So they do not marry outside of their faith. There was a movie "a stranger among us" that tried to explain their attitude toward marriage.

You are not 100 years old. Am I right.
So, that's a fraction of a lifetime, compared to 14 centuries of study.
Surely you are not saying you are the only one who "study under the hasidic", "based on the kabbalah that goes back further" than the 1800s.
You are not saying that no one knows the language but you, are you?

So, I'm a little perplexed over your point about your academia.
Can you explain what's the point you are trying to make, in relation to the posts in this thread?

I am not making a point. I answered a question. People can do their own homework. They do not need me to do it for them. You are free to do all your own research and arrive at your own conclusions. In fact, why don't you do that for us.

I thought I was doing that. Wasn't I doing that?
