  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Anyone ever had this before.

Well..My Professor for my US History to 1877 class has to be the coolest professor ever. He is one of those Old Hippie types, but is probably the coolest guy ever. Its his last year at the my school. So he has a whole new grading policy. He works on the Point System, ie 45 Questions on a Test = 45 points total. Meaning 45/45 = A, 40/45 = B so on, you get the idea and maybe have had a teacher that grades like this. anyway you need like 357 points to make a A in the class.... but only like 160 points for a C ... i know i know.. that should be failing... then agin.. If you make 20/45 on a test in his class you've made a C... not a 44.444444 like it would average out to if you put it in a calculator. ANd also, if the class overall did bad..he gives us extra points on the tests! Man i wish all my teachers were about to retire and all graded like him.

1st test i made a 21/45 ..but he gave us 5 extra points giving me 26/45 and that is a C..how cool and...

i made an 18/45 on the second..but we got 10 extra points..making it 28 and to him that is a B...!!! i'm really liking my history class :D

lol, i had a teacher in high school who was so lenient that he let each other copy of each others papers if we wanted to on our final exam. i dont remember doing it, but i mean, seriously, it doesnt get much easier than that. (Of course, it was an electricity class, so its not like it was as important as an English or math or something).

wow, not many profs will do that. i do like the profs that will drop your lowest grade. i.e. i have this one prof that has 3 papers and a final. i have the choice of doing 3 papers and the final or 3 papers and skipping the final. or you can do all 4 things and have her drop the lowest. that's nice.
